  • Patent number: 11872885
Abstract: A traction control system for a trailing vehicle includes an electric machine, a ground engaging apparatus in contact with a ground surface, a speed sensor measuring the speed of the ground engaging apparatus, and a controller providing a traction control signal to the electric machine. The controller is in communication with a force increase control. The controller provides a temporary increase in tractive force of the electric machine when the force increase control is activated either manually or automatically. The amount of temporary increase in the tractive force can be variable and adjustable.

  • Publication number: 20070012495
Abstract: A working vehicle such as an agricultural combine includes a vehicle body and an internal combustion engine carried by the vehicle body. An engine compartment at least partially encloses the internal combustion engine. An air exhaust chimney has an inlet in fluid communication with the engine compartment, and an outlet positioned near a top of the vehicle body and facing in an upward direction.

  • Publication number: 20070006827
Abstract: An apparatus is configured for supplying air to a cooling package for an internal combustion engine that powers an agricultural machine. The apparatus includes an air intake housing defining an air intake opening and a sump. The sump has a wall and a port. A gating device is positioned in communication with the port. The gating device has a first position wherein the port of the sump is closed and a second position wherein the port of the sump is not closed.

  • Publication number: 20060283157
Abstract: A rotating filter screen assembly is provided for filtering debris from cooling and combustion air provided to an engine system having an engine fan adapted to draw air through the filter screen assembly. The filter screen assembly includes a rotating filter screen having an upstream side and a downstream side. The filter screen is adapted to collect debris on the upstream side from air passing through the filter screen. A stationary cleaning chamber is mounted in the filter screen assembly and has an open face adjacent the upstream side of the filter screen. A vacuum source is connected to the cleaning chamber and is adapted to remove collected debris from the upstream side of the filter screen as the filter screen rotates relative to the cleaning chamber. An aerodynamic baffle plate is offset from the downstream side of the filter screen to divert air flow toward the downstream side of the filter screen so as to create an area of high pressure air at the open face of the cleaning chamber.

  • Patent number: 6616411
Abstract: A passive fan blade for a cooling package for use in an agricultural combine comprises a generally rectangular member having an axis, a central mounting area and two opposed legs, each leg having a middle region, a leading region and a trailing region, the leading and trailing regions being angled toward the downstream direction of intended air flow. The trailing regions increase in width in proportion to distance from the axis, while the leading regions decrease in width in proportion to distance from the axis, whereby the member is impelled to rotate in the direction of the leading edges when air flows past the member. In an assembly, the passive fan blade is mounted via a bearing assembly and mounting hardware onto a hub connected to a bracket. In a cooling package, the passive fan blade assembly is mounted on a frame in close proximity to a face of a radiator or a charge air cooler to provide turbulence thereby minimizing accumulation of chaff, dust and debris in order to maintain cooling efficiency.

  • Patent number: 5145430
Abstract: A surf craft such as a surfboard or windsurfer comprising a planing plank (15) forming the complete lower surface (14) of the craft and a stiffening spine (11) upstanding from and extending substantially the length of the planing plank (15). The spine (11) being integral with the planing plank (15) to form a structural unit with the planing plank projecting laterally from either side of the central spine. These lateral projections (31) of the planing plank (15) being independently resiliently deflectable in use relative to the central stiffening spine (11). Filler pads (35) on either side of the spine rest on and secured to the planing plank (15) to form with the spine a platform for a rider of the craft to stand and move about on when the craft is in use. The filler pads (35) being resiliently flexible with the planing plank.
