  • Patent number: 5203064
Abstract: A tool used particularly with vehicular tires, including inflatable inner tubes, is formed with a rim clamp arranged for securement to a peripheral rim portion of a vehicular tire rim, and an internallyy threaded or alternatively smooth bore cap member arranged for securement to a valve stem, with a plurality of chain links of adjustable length mounted between the rim clamp and the cap member to maintain alignment of the valve stem during installation and removal of a valve stem or valve stem and tube member relative to the vehicular rim.

  • Patent number: 5140707
Abstract: A welder's safety helmet has a face portion (11) and an observation aperture (16). The face portion (11) supports a lens assembly (20). The lens assembly (20) includes a shroud (21) and a first lens frame (22) having a first lens (31) mounted therein. The shroud (21) substantially surrounds the observation aperture (16). The first lens frame (22) is operable between an open and a closed position via a hinge mechanism (23). In the closed position, a spacer member (40) contacts the shroud (21) and thus effectively blocks all light from being transmitted to the wearer's field of view, other than the desirable transmission through first lens (31).

  • Patent number: 5098092
Abstract: A portable, foldable basketball backboard assembly. In an upright deployed position the assembly is erected to provide a regulation size basketball backboard. The assembly may be folded downwardly into a compact, folded assembly that is sufficiently compact in size and short in height to permit it to be transported and stored in ordinary storage facilities. In the folded position the assembly is transportable on integral caster wheel assemblies. The assembly is raised and lowered by a lift mechanism which facilitates raising of the assembly while also preventing the assembly from being lowered suddenly or unexpectedly. An extendible goal post, which supports a foldable backboard and a hoop, extends upwardly and outwardly from the base so as to provide a clear playing space beneath the backboard.

  • Patent number: 4946163
Abstract: A portable, foldable basketball backboard assembly is disclosed. In an upright deployed position the assembly is erected to provide a regulation size basketball backboard. The assembly may be folded into a compact assembly sized for storage and transportation. In the folded position the assembly is transportable on integral wheel assemblies. The assembly includes an integral spring biasing mechanism to assist in raising the assembly to the upright position.

  • Patent number: 4722252
Abstract: A power driven wrench includes a rotatable drive rotor journalled between fixed arms of a yoke affixed to one end of a wrench handle containing a motor. Disposed between the yoke arms is a ratchet head which is driven in reciprocal angular motion by the motor. The ratchet head is engaged with the drive rotor by means of a pawl in the ratchet head and a ratchet gear on the drive rotor. A direction switching lever within the ratchet head permits the direction of rotation of the drive rotor to be manually selected. The switching lever extends from the sides of the ratchet head, such that the direction of rotation of the wrench can be easily changed even if the wrench is inadvertently backed up against an immovable object while removing a nut or bolt. The location of the switching lever enables it be actuated with the same hand holding the wrench, and also results in the wrench having a thin profile which is useful in confined spaces.

  • Patent number: 4049014
Abstract: A cartridge type sleeve and plunger hydraulic valve is retained in a blind bore along with a biasing spring by a closure plug. Spaced transverse passages intersecting the bore are either separated or connected depending upon whether the plunger is either shifted by the spring bias or by fluid pressure overcoming the spring bias. An elastomeric seal eliminates leakage when the valve is in closed position. To insure against accidental fall out of any loose parts when the valve is disassembled under difficult working conditions, as in mines, O-rings are utilized as retainers for the spring and other parts.
