  • Patent number: 4797057
Abstract: A tow truck of the wheel-lift type is provided. In a first embodiment, a telescopic boom is supported by parallelogram linkage which is actuated by a hydraulic motor which is slightly inclined to the horizontal, the inner end of the boom, in its travel position being above and somewhat forwardly of the ring gear housing of the rear axle of the tow truck. The parallelogram linkage supports the boom through a boom support structure which permits it to be swung in a substantially horizontal plane, about substantially vertical pinions. The grid, which engages the wheels, includes a movable member which engages a wheel and raises it relative to the boom and grid, without movement of the boom. In a second embodiment, a substantially vertical post supports a parallelogram linkage which in turn supports a substantially horizontal extensible boom having a wheel grid at its outer end.

  • Patent number: 4353597
Abstract: To eliminate completely the necessity for removing a sliding truck bed in order to shim or replace the dry lube wear pads for such bed, a wear pad containment is provided including readily removable wear pad retainers secured by bolts which also serve to retain lower wear pads whose servicing or replacement is also facilitated. The readily replaceable wear pads are not pierced by any fastener and therefore have a longer useful life.

  • Patent number: 4199904
Abstract: Apparatus for mounting a plurality of centrifugal throwing wheels within a blast drum contained within a blast cabinet such that the throwing wheels are carried by a set of tracks which permit the throwing wheels to be rolled into and out of the blast cabinet. A feed screw is located within the blast drum for transporting abrasive particles to the throwing wheels and cooling ducts are located within the blast drum for carrying a flow of air to the throwing wheels. The feed screw and cooling ducts are fixedly located within the blast drum and do not move when the throwing wheels are retracted therefrom.
