  • Publication number: 20020079787
Abstract: A method for flexible mounting piezoelectric devices at a spaced distance from a PC board by conductive adhesive so as to provide support to the device sufficient to withstand 50 g on three axes for 11 ms with minimal adverse effect on the operation and performance of the assembled structure. Also disclosed is a piezoelectric device flexibly mounted at a spaced distance from a PC board by conductive adhesive so as to provide support to the device sufficient to withstand 50 g on three axes for 11 ms with minimal adverse effect on the operation and performance of the device.

  • Patent number: 5872419
Abstract: A piezoelectric transformer with voltage feedback is disclosed. The transformer comprises a piezoelectric plate of predetermined length, width and height with a driving section formed by alternately stacking a plurality of piezoelectric ceramic layers having internal interdigitated electrode layers. A driven section including an unpolarized dielectric section, a voltage feedback section in the form of a multilayer electrode structure or an outer strip, and a normally polarized dielectric section is also disclosed. The transformer generates an output voltage at an output terminal by the piezoelectric vibration transmitted from the driving section. A feedback control circuit is connected to the voltage feedback section. The isolated voltage feedback provides feedback control to keep the transformer operating at the proper resonant frequency even as there is a change in output load of the transformer.

  • Patent number: 5233665
Abstract: An audio equalizer system includes a filter having a passband extending substantially continuously across the audio spectrum, with the filter having an input terminal and an output terminal. An input network is adapted to apply an input audio signal to the input terminal of the filter, and an output network is adapted to provide an output audio signal representative of the signal at the output terminal of the filter. The group delay of the filter varies continuously with frequency across the audio spectrum, with that group delay being relatively high but less than approximately 10 milliseconds at frequencies less than approximately 200 Hz and being relatively low but greater than or equal to zero at frequencies greater than approximately 8000 Hz. When configured as a hearing assistance system, an input audio transducer, or microphone, generates the audio input signal from an incident acoustic wave, and an output audio transducer, or speaker, produces an output acoustic wave from the output audio signal.

  • Patent number: 5095433
Abstract: A target reporting system utilizes a flexible target sheet having a target image thereon. Preferably, the sheet is positioned in a substantially planar configuration. A plurality of sensors affixed to the target sheet are arranged for detecting vibrations at selected locations on the sheet. In response thereto, a processor determines the location of a bullet strike (or other vibration-causing impact). A reporting element converts the calculated location to an absolute or relative position and reports it in a human voice-like signal to the target shooter.
