  • Patent number: 6729069
Abstract: A method of providing identification on a container having a tapered outer surface, that includes providing an identifying sleeve having the form of a truncated cone; assembling the sleeve onto the container to accommodate to a tapered surface; and mechanically retaining the sleeve on the container, to be optionally easily released, if desired.

  • Patent number: 5429260
Abstract: A produce box structure comprising box side walls, bottom wall, and top wall sections, and two end walls, said end walls being substantially rigid for supporting the side walls and bottom wall; the end walls having peripheral edge portions, the bottom wall and side walls overlapping certain of the peripheral edges of the end walls and adhesively joined thereto; all of the walls consisting of lightweight plastic material, the bottom wall, side walls and top wall sections defined by thin inner and outer sheets and webs interconnecting the sheets, the webs extending directionally lengthwise toward the end walls, whereby lengthwise extending elongated cells are formed by the inner and outer sheets and webs; the side walls being integral with the top wall sections, whereby the top wall sections are hingedly connected to the side wall, respectively, and may be opened away from the end walls; and projections on the end walls, to which the top wall sections are releasably connectible.

  • Patent number: 5366143
Abstract: A box structure comprising box side walls, bottom wall, and two end walls. The two end walls each have substantially greater thickness than the side walls, and the bottom wall. The end walls have peripheral edges; the bottom wall and side walls have edge portions overlapping certain peripheral edges of the end walls. There is attachment structure attaching the bottom wall and the side wall edge portions to the end wall peripheral edges. The end walls consist essentially of lightweight, cellular, synthetic resin. The side walls and the bottom wall are defined by thin, inner and outer sheets and webs interconnecting the sheets. The webs are elongated, whereby parallel, lengthwise, elongated cells are formed by the inner and outer sheets and webs; the inner and outer sheets consist of synthetic resin, and the cells have length direction. The bottom wall and the side wall form a continuous strip, which is folded to fit against certain peripheral edges of the end walls; certain peripheral edges are flat.

  • Patent number: 5364023
Abstract: A box structure comprising box side walls, a bottom wall, and two end walls, the two end walls each having substantially greater thickness than the side walls and the bottom wall. The end walls have peripheral edges, the bottom wall and the side walls have edge portions overlapping certain of the peripheral edges of the end walls. There are fasteners attaching the bottom wall and the side wall edge portions to the end wall peripheral edges, the fasteners penetrating through the bottom wall and the side wall edge portions and into the end walls via the certain peripheral edges thereof. The end walls consist essentially of cellular foamed polyethylene, which has specific gravity between 0.800 and 0.940. The bottom wall and the side walls form a continuous strip, which is folded to fit against the certain peripheral edges of the end walls, the certain peripheral edges being flat. The fasteners comprise nails driven into the cellular polyethylene.

  • Patent number: 4850136
Abstract: In a demountable container, the combination comprising:(a) the container having an upright axis and including multiple wall sections each extending part-way about said axis,(b) the sections having laterally interfitting tongue and groove element connections,(c) and elongated connectors extending through the tongue and groove elements so as to be endwise removable therefrom allowing separation of the sections.

  • Patent number: 4730137
Abstract: Motion generating apparatus comprising:(a) first and second structures which are relatively rotatable,(b) magnetic material associated with one of said structures and characterized as having a first magnetic state at a high temperature and a second magnetic state at a low temperature,(c) a magnet associated with the other of said structures and having a pole to produce flux that intercepts said material as said structures relatively rotate,(d) first means to transfer heat to cause said material to vary in temperature between said high and low temperatures so that magnetic force is exerted on the rotating structure as said material relatively passes in proximity to said magnet, thereby producing torque casing the rotating structures to rotate, and(e) other means to transfer heat from the magnetic material to fluid media.

  • Patent number: 4307664
Abstract: A plastic shot shell wad incorporating an improved cushioning mechanism. A cushioning effect is provided by connecting a wad with a shot cup by means of two levels of parallel walls separated by an intermediate planar member. A lower level of walls is connected to a wad portion and an upper level of walls is connected to the shot cup portion. As a charge in a shotgun shell is ignited, the lower walls will be forced through the intermediate member, which provides a resistance which has a cushioning effect. As the lower walls move forward, they will become interleaved with the upper walls. By properly locating the upper and lower walls, tilting of the wad with respect to the shot cup after firing can be minimized.
