  • Publication number: 20070095279
Abstract: A spray enclosure is provided for plural component coating application. The enclosure has a framework of four panel walls and a ceiling with a protective film cladding to altogether enclose a protected workspace. An air inlet in one wall uses a louvered grille with double-deflection louvers to deflect incoming air to the workspace. An air filter, fan and exhaust assembly is provided on an opposite wall for filtering and drawing air through the protected workspace to an exhaust. The spray enclosure is adapted for efficient laminar air flow through the protected workspace. The spray enclosure may be sold in parts as a kit.

  • Publication number: 20050103889
Abstract: A method and system are provided for injecting a color component into a plural component coating dispensing system. Base, cure and color components are pumped from respective containers at metered volume. The color component, which is preferably a low-viscosity automotive paint is injected into the either the base or cure stream at a point immediately prior to mixing all components in a dispensing device for dispensing the resulting colored fluid mixture onto a surface to be coated. The mixture may be dispensed by pouring or spraying onto the surface. The method and system are particularly useful for mixing and dispensing colored polyurethane or polyurea coatings, such as for spray-on truck bed liners.

  • Publication number: 20050008808
Abstract: The present invention provides an adhesive filament-bearing adhesive tape comprising an adhesive substrate adapted to be releasably adhered to a surface to be coated, and a filament releasably adhered to an edge of that substrate, that is useful in trimming a coating applied to a surface. The invention further provides a method of trimming a coating applied to a surface comprising applying to the surface to be coated a masking material to define the area to be coated and a filament of material of sufficient tensile strength to cut the coating material; applying coating material to the surface: allowing the coating material to dry or cure until it obtains sufficient strength to hold a cut edge; and drawing the filament through the coating to cut the coating.
