  • Patent number: 11982553
Abstract: An apparatus for monitoring a fluid flow in a pipe using electromagnetic velocity tomography (EVT) which can incorporate capacitively-coupled electrodes which avoid any direct physical and electrical contact between the process fluid to be monitored and the electronics for processing the flow induced voltages, yet which can provide highly accurate output data for processing using electromagnetic velocity tomography (EVT) to produce images of the fluid flow.

  • Publication number: 20240095429
Abstract: A method can include generating equipment specifications for a facility project at a field site by simulating physical phenomena using one or more computational simulators; using the equipment specifications and a computational facility planner system, generating a work breakdown structure for the facility project, where the work breakdown structure represents activities to be performed to deliver a defined scope of the facility project within a defined time; rendering a graphical user interface to a display that includes graphical controls for dependencies of the activities and equipment characterized by the equipment specifications; responsive to input received via one or more of the graphical controls, automatically updating at least durations of the activities; and, based at least in part on the updating, generating an optimal scenario for the facility project.

  • Publication number: 20240085227
Abstract: The present invention relates to apparatus for monitoring fluid flow in a pipe using electromagnetic velocity tomography (EVT). The apparatus generates a magnetic field within a pipe and when electrically conducting fluid, such as an aqueous phase, flowing along the pipe passes through the magnetic field, flow induced voltages are generated by magnetic induction which are detected by electrodes. The signals at the electrodes can be processed to produce images of the flow velocity profile in the pipe. The flow may be a multiphase flow which comprises fluids, and may comprise a mixture of liquids, or one or more liquids in a mixture with solids and/or gases. This invention may provide a multiphase flow metering apparatus which has a number of applications, in particular within the oil and gas exploration and production industry.

  • Publication number: 20050192387
Abstract: The present invention provides for a room temperature vulcanizable silicone sealant composition that rapidly achieves a usable green strength shortly after application. Such a composition that develops a usable green strength is useful in the manufacture of architectural elements employing glazing such as windows and doors and when such a composition is used in a manufacturing process, the manufacturing process can be accelerated relative to a process that uses a silicone sealant that does not rapidly achieve a usable green strength.

  • Patent number: 5017879
Abstract: An apparatus for use in the capacitive measurement of the void fraction in a flowing liquid. An assembly of at least two electrodes is spaced apart around the exterior of the body defining a flow passage such that the capacitance of the electrode assembly is a function of the dielectric constant of material within the passageway. The radial thickness of the body is substantial such that the passageway occupies a portion of the electrostatic field of the electrode assembly which is relatively uniform. The dielectric constant of the body may be substantially equal to the expected dielectric constant of the said liquid. The body may be tubular with the electrode assembly directly supported on the radially outer surface of the tube.

  • Patent number: 4975645
Abstract: The logging tool comprises a gas void fraction measurement section (37) consisting of a first set (37) of eight longitudinal electrodes (38) extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tool and positioned and regularly spaced around said longitudinal axis, a sleeve (40) made of dielectric material and located in contact and around the electrodes for obtaining an electric field pattern distributed essentially radially between the electrodes and the wall (12) of the borehole facing the electrodes (38), a centralizer (32) for substantially centralizing the tool in the borehole, and a circuit means (69-115) for measuring sequentially the capacitance between two adjacent electrodes for each pair of electrodes, said capacitance being characteristic of the gas void fraction of the fluid flowing in the wellbore. The logging tool comprises in addition a cross correlation gas velocity measurement section (28) which includes a second (48) and a third (50) set of electrodes.
