  • Patent number: 5833199
Abstract: A lightweight, durable music. The stand includes a base, telescoping upright support assembly, and rack, all formed from a durable, lightweight synthetic resin. The rack includes a matrix of support ribs that provide the rack with exceptional durability in a lightweight structure. The rack includes a bracket receiving structure and a recess for receiving batons, writing instruments and the like in noninterfering relationship with the documents held by the rack. The base includes a plurality of central weights to lower the center of gravity of the stand, such that the stand is provided with excellent stability from a compact footprint.

  • Patent number: 5651405
Abstract: An improved collapsible stage panel assembly having a base, a vertical panel rigidly attached to the base, an intermediate panel pivotally connected to the top of the rigid vertical panel, a canopy panel pivotally connected to the intermediate panel and a kicker panel pivotally connected to the bottom of the rigid vertical panel. The stage panel assembly has a mechanical assisting device between the rigid vertical panel and the intermediate panel to provide a counter balancing force against the combined weights of the intermediate and canopy panels. A second mechanical assisting device extends between the intermediate panel and the canopy panel to provide a counter balancing force against the weight of the canopy panel. An automatic locking device provides for the locking of the intermediate panel in its extended position relative to the rigid vertical panel when the intermediate panel is placed in its extended position.

  • Patent number: 5501603
Abstract: A modularized visual training aid for classroom instruction including a stabilizing base, upright support operably coupled to the base and extending generally vertically upward from the base for storing teaching tools and a display housing pivotably mounted to the upright support. The display housing includes an expandable vertical display surface for exhibition and application of visual materials and teaching tools and is shiftable between an elevated position and a lowered position to accommodate users of different heights. Storage areas for various teaching tools are provided on the base, on the display housing and within the upright support. In operation, the training aid is moved the presentation location and the display housing pivoted into either an elevated or lowered position to present the expandable vertical display surface to the students. During the lesson, students or the teacher can illustrate points by working on the display surface or viewing lesson placards attached to the display surface.

  • Patent number: 5464236
Abstract: A portable musical instrument support for storage, transport, and performance support of musical instruments. The portable musical instruments cart provides for the efficient setup, breakdown, storage and transport of a multiplicity of musical instruments, and is especially adapted for the storage and support of ORFF instruments. The portable musical instruments cart includes a base frame supported by a floor engaging wheel assembly, a pair of fixed shelf surfaces, and first and second expandable shelf assemblies. The base frame includes opposed upright standards of uneven height, and the first and second expandable shelf assemblies are pivotally coupled to respective ones of the upright standards. The expandable shelf assemblies each include a generally U-shaped support leg that supports a respective shelf assembly when in the expanded position, and which provides a hand graspable handle for maneuvering the portable instrument cart when in the folded position.

  • Patent number: 4918767
Abstract: A shampoo chair and bowl apparatus in which the shampoo bowl is mounted with a neck rest at a fixed elevation, and a shampoo chair is mounted for adjustment along a linear guide path inclined upwardly and rearwardly toward the shampoo bowl between a lower and an upper position. The chair frame and guide are arranged to support and guide the chair during movement along the guide path with the back rest extending upwardly and rearwardly from the seat generally parallel to the guide path toward the neck rest on the shampoo bowl. Seat adjustment apparatus is provided for stopping the chair in a selected adjusted position between the upper and lower positions.

  • Patent number: 4486106
Abstract: A rotary shelf assembly having a plurality of shelves mounted on a vertical post is disposed in a cabinet frame with upper and lower bearing elements supported at opposite ends of the post and coacting with vertically spaced bearing members which are secured to the cabinet frame to support the post for turning about its longitudinal axis. The assembly is adapted to be mounted in the corner of the cabinet frame and, to accommodate this, the shelves have perpendicular edges which generally align with the sides of the cabinet in one angular position of the post and which support a V-shaped door. To adjust the vertical position in the cabinet frame, the lower bearing element is on a slide in the lower end portion of the post and a manual actuator on the post moves a cam which cooperates with a cam follower on the slide to move the slide and hence the lower bearing member downwardly relative to the post.
