  • Patent number: 5662411
Abstract: A motion activated light fixture has a housing comprised of a canopy, a base formed integral with the canopy and at least one illumination source mounted on the housing. The housing has a centrally located mounting hole which enables the base and canopy to be rotated 360 degrees around the mounting hole prior to being mounted on a selected vertical or horizontal surface. The sensor component mounts on an outer surface of the housing and includes a lens plate in which plural lens segments are formed in a plurality of rows so as to provide a substantially wide angle of view of up to 180 degrees and which view can be variably positioned utilizing the referred to mounting hole configuration.

  • Patent number: 5590953
Abstract: A motion activated decorative lantern having an optical lens which becomes part of the lantern structure and appearance so that there is no profile difference due to the presence of the motion sensor. The detection range area may be adjusted without the details of the adjustment being visible. A rotatable sensing module has an integral appearance with that of the fixture. The decorative lantern has a decorative lamp portion and a mounting portion, a cylindrical sensing module having a chamber; a motion sensor located in the chamber for detecting motion in a selected location around the lantern; and a lens piece positioned around the sensing module and over the chamber. The lens piece has a uniform decorative appearance. The sensing module is rotatable to change the selected location of detection of the lantern. The lantern also includes a decorative external housing, decorative tail below the sensing module and a decorative lantern base.

  • Patent number: 5414263
Abstract: A passive infrared detection and conversion circuit includes a pyrosensor, a current amplifier, a capacitor, and a signal processor circuit. The signal processor is operable to charge the capacitor to a first voltage level and to measure a capacitor discharge time, the time required for the capacitor to discharge from the first voltage level to a second voltage level. The signal processor is further operable to generate an electrical control signal responsive to a variation in the capacitor discharge time which corresponds to a significant motion event. When the pyrosensor is exposed to infrared motion, it generates a transient current, and the capacitor discharge time corresponds to the transient current. The signal processor circuit includes logic operable to compare the capacitor discharge time with a long-term average capacitor discharge time.
