  • Publication number: 20230195960
Abstract: Examples are disclosed relating computer simulation environments that comprise output models producing output data and input models waiting for a portion of output data. One example provides a computing system comprising a scheduler configured to determine if prerequisite data is available for each input model. On condition that the prerequisite data is available, the input model is stepped. The output models and input models are maintained within a predetermined number of steps of each other. A router is configured to, when a selected output model finishes a step, copy the output data from an output buffer of the selected output model and send the output data to an output queue. The output data is stored until a selected input model is ready to step the selected frame. The output data is then copied from the output queue into an input packet buffer of the selected input model.

  • Patent number: 7567879
Abstract: A device for driving a plant such as a beam scanner includes a memory, drive-signal generator, and a calibrator. The memory stores data corresponding to the drive signal, and the generator generates the drive signal from the data and couples the drive signal to the plant. The calibrator measures a response of the plant to the drive signal, calculates a difference between the measured response and a corresponding target response, and reduces the difference by altering the drive signal. Such a device can force the output response of the driven plant to equal a target output response, or to be sufficiently close to the target response for a particular application, while the device is operating in an open-loop configuration. Furthermore, while operating in an open-loop configuration, such a device often has a greater stability margin and greater noise immunity than a comparable device that operates in a closed-loop configuration.

  • Patent number: 7185634
Abstract: High efficiency, high pressure fixed displacement pump systems and methods of control. A typical application is for engine driven high pressure pumps for powering loads such as fuel injectors and/or hydraulic engine valve actuators. The pump systems include a control valve controllably coupling the pump output back to the pump input to stop the pumping when the desired pressure of the output is reached. Reinitiating pumping an increment in crankshaft angle before a load event based in the increment in pressure needed to reach the desired pressure at the crankshaft angle of the load event provides a simple control algorithm assuring accurate repeatability in the pressure at the beginning of a load event. Pumping throughout the load event minimizes the decrease in pressure during the load event. Providing underlap in the control valve minimizes pressure peaks and maximizes efficiently when starting and stopping the pumping action. Various embodiments are disclosed.
