  • Publication number: 20110240654
Abstract: A receptacle for spent smoking material has a modular construction and can include a base, a lid, a neck, and a head. The base and the lid define a chamber for containing the spent smoking material. The lid can be removably connected to the base through the rotative engagement of corresponding lugs on the base and the lid. The neck can be assembled to the lid using a one-way connector mechanism. The head can be assembled to the neck using a one-way connector mechanism. The head portion has an orifice therein for receiving spent smoking materials, which can be directed through the neck to the chamber. A bucket can be provided in the chamber to receive the spent smoking materials.

  • Publication number: 20090085447
Abstract: A safety container can include a hazard indicator located on an external surface thereof. The hazard indicator can include indicia to convey to personnel in the vicinity the nature of the hazard posed by the materials stored in the safety container. The hazard indicator can be made, at least in part, of a reflective material, preferably a retroreflective material. The indicator is disposed on the exterior surface of the safety container to help personnel locate the safety container in low light situations and to indicate the nature of the contents stored in the safety container, especially in situations where the safety container is located in a room where there is smoke or low light. The safety container can be in the form of a safety cabinet or a portable safety can, for example.

  • Publication number: 20080106174
Abstract: A safety cabinet comprises an enclosure defining an opening and a door rotatably attached to the enclosure. The door is movable between an open position and a closed position, the door configured to selectively cover the enclosure when in the closed position. The safety cabinet further comprises a latch system to selectively retain the door in the closed position. The latch system can include a paddle handle to operate the latch system. The paddle handle includes a housing, an operating lever to actuate the paddle handle, and a tang. The operating lever is movable between a normal position and an operating position. The tang passes through a slot in the operating lever when the operator lever is in the normal position with an opening in the tang being accessible for receiving a padlock therethrough. The tang is configured such that when a padlock passes through the opening of the tang, the padlock will prevent the operating lever from moving to the operating position.

  • Publication number: 20070205703
Abstract: A safety cabinet is disclosed which includes an enclosure having a double-walled construction and a pair of doors to selectively seal the enclosure. The safety cabinet includes a lock bar and a pair of retaining arms that permit the lock bar to be set across the front of the safety cabinet, thereby preventing the safety cabinet doors from being opened. The lock bar may be locked in place at both ends to the retaining arms by use of removable locks. When locked in place, the lock bar protects the safety cabinet from accidental or unauthorized opening. The enclosure is mounted on top of a base that contains two forklift pockets designed to accommodate the fork of a forklift. An indicator is disposed on the safety cabinet for, among other things, making the safety cabinet easy to locate and indicating the nature of the contents stored in the safety cabinet, especially in situations where the safety cabinet is located in a room where there is smoke or low light.
