  • Publication number: 20150345050
Abstract: A fiber processing system includes a fiber spreader that has a spreader bar that extends in a lengthwise direction between first and second ends. The spreader bar carries at least one radiused surface between the first and second ends. At least one mechanical vibration device is operable to vibrate the spreader bar. The at least one mechanical vibration device is connected to input mechanical vibration into the spreader bar at a location between the first and second ends. A method for spreading at least one fiber bundle includes moving at least one tensioned fiber bundle over a radiused surface of the spreader bar. During the moving, mechanical vibration is input into the spreader bar at a location between the first and second ends, to transversely spread and flatten the at least one tensioned fiber bundle.

  • Publication number: 20020186665
Abstract: The present invention relates to a network nodes that are interconnected by communication links. Each node is capable of determining communication paths or routes from itself to as many other nodes as possible, either directly or relaying through other nodes, in order to complete the network. These paths are evaluated as new information concerning a route is generated, according to selected criteria, so that the best paths are identified, remembered and used when communication is performed. This invention is concerned with the determination of best paths through a network and the maintenance of these paths as communication conditions and node population changes.

  • Patent number: 5950206
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for searching for and tracking construction projects includes a mass data storage device (12, 19, 26, 44) for storing as databases project information and document information related to construction projects. A member terminal (10) includes a computer (12) connected to an input device (16, 18, 20) and a display device (14). A user enters the databases using the input device (16, 18, 20) to mark at least one construction project identification for tracking based upon selection of at least one key word contained in the project information stored in the databases. The databases are periodically updated to reflect changes in the stored information and subsequent access to the databases causes the computer (12) to automatically display on the display device (14) each marked construction project for which the related information changed since the last time the user entered the databases.
