  • Patent number: 5095642
Abstract: Street signs are signs placed in store fronts or store aisles, at service stations, or the like, to display messages to the public. They generally include a sign panel supported by a base assembly and legs connected to the base assembly which support the sign. The present invention includes such a street sign having legs pivotally attached to the base assembly so that when the sign is to be stored, it may be conveniently folded so as to be made relatively narrow for convenience of carrying and storage.

  • Patent number: 4798031
Abstract: A wind-resistant elongated spanner includes a display member to be supported longitudinally at opposite ends in the space between opposed extrinsic portal-defining upright structures, such as canopy poles, in display configuration. It has a thin beam configuration core presenting parallel, rectangular front and rear faces having a high aspect ratio. Channel configuration top and bottom rails extend along top and bottom core faces. Metal face panels extend over the front and rear core faces, layers of adhesive being interposed between the face panels and respective front and rear core faces for securement of the faces panels to the core, opposite end faces of the core being uncovered. The display member is supported by mounting members at opposite ends of the display member, each configured for attachment to a pole or other upright structure to provide a channel opening toward the display member for reception of marginal portions of an end of same.

  • Patent number: 4783921
Abstract: A wind resistant sign for display purposes includes a base and a resilient panel having a base portion supported by the base for extending outwardly from the base in a direction perpendicular to the base, the panel being thin and of such resilience and strength as to undergo bending deflection responsive to wind forces. First and second oppositely disposed mounting members of the base are clamped together by screw and nut fasteners to define between the members a throat for receiving the panel base portion. The throat opens upwardly on opposite faces of the panel in smoothly outwardly diverging relationship to the panel with radius of curvature much less than the natural bending radius of curvature of the panel to provide a strain-relieving support on opposite faces of the panel when undergoing bending deflection.
