  • Patent number: 10774758
Abstract: A method for producing an output data stream includes picking up and digitalizing a combustion chamber signal to a combustion chamber signal data stream and, simultaneously therewith, picking up and digitalizing a crankshaft angle signal to a crankshaft signal data stream. The combustion chamber signal data stream is split or duplicated into a first and a second combustion chamber signal data flow. The first combustion chamber signal data flow is filtered to a first filtered combustion chamber signal data stream and then transformed to a first transformed combustion chamber signal data stream. The second combustion chamber signal data flow is transformed to a second transformed combustion chamber signal data stream. The first and second transformed combustion chamber signal data streams are combined to an output data stream which comprises the first and second transformed combustion chamber signal data streams in a respective first and second crankshaft angle range.

  • Publication number: 20180030755
Abstract: A modular system for protecting a critical asset includes a plurality of vertical members extending vertically upwardly from a ground surface, and inner and outer stacks of spaced-apart horizontal members connected between adjacent pairs of the vertical members defining a vertical wall. The spaced-apart horizontal members have cross sections and spacings such that no line can be drawn through the wall without intersecting with one or both of the inner and outer stacks. The cross sections of the horizontal members in both stacks include elongated angled surfaces such that projectile on a trajectory toward the critical asset is deflected upwardly or downwardly and away from the critical asset. In a preferred embodiment, the horizontal members are angle irons. In a more preferred embodiment the horizontal members are 1/2? 90-degree steel angle irons oriented sideways, such that the elongated plates making up the angle irons are 45 degrees off horizontal.

  • Publication number: 20060025288
Abstract: A resistance assembly for a hydraulic resistance exercise apparatus includes a single-action hydraulic cylinder having a longitudinal axis and extending from a first end to a second end. The single-action cylinder provides resistance to compression of the cylinder, one end toward the other, but provides little or no resistance to extension of the cylinder, one end away from the other. A first compression linkage compresses the hydraulic cylinder in response to movement of a first exercise resistance lever in a first direction. A second compression linkage compresses the hydraulic cylinder in response to movement of a second exercise resistance lever in a second direction directly opposed to the first direction. An engagement exercise lever includes an engagement pin for selectively engaging the engagement exercise lever to move in fixed relation to one or the other the first or second exercise levers in both the first and second direction.

  • Publication number: 20050161023
Abstract: Fuel consumption in a vehicle engine is reduced by varying charge dilution in an intake manifold of the engine to maintain a pressure in the intake manifold within a predetermined range. Pumping work performed by engine cylinders is reduced, which reduces fuel consumption.

  • Publication number: 20050066932
Abstract: An internal combustion engine includes a plurality of cylinders each having intake and exhaust valves and at least one camshaft timed to operate the valves with a high performance fixed overlap. Each camshaft has a cam phaser controlled to equally vary the intake and exhaust valve timing for superior full throttle performance over the engine speed range; Valve deactivation mechanisms operate to deactivate up to half the cylinders during idle and light load operation for increasing fuel efficiency and emission control and maintaining stable operation of the operating cylinders. The engine may also be started with half the cylinders cut out and then run with stable operation in this mode during idle and light load because the increased load on the operating cylinders gives stable operation with an increased valve overlap permitting increased performance and emission control at higher load operation on all the cylinders.

  • Patent number: 4726017
Abstract: A multidrop network for effecting communications between a master site and a plurality of remote slave sites employs a multiport multiplexer at the master site and at slave sites, for interfacing multiple ports to a single telephone communication link. At the master site multiple/diverse types of data/signal processing equipments are coupled to respective ports of a master communications multiplexer or concentrator. Under internal processor control the master concentrator interfaces one of its input ports to an associated communications modem by way of which messages are exchanged over the telephone link. That input port of the master concentrator which is interfaced to its associated modem establishes a corresponding destination port of each remote concentrator that is coupled to a respective drop distributed along the telephone link.
