  • Patent number: 4644712
Abstract: An elongated rod has a reaction member attached to a lower end with flukes adapted to be expanded outward against the reaction member. A lower tubular member is connected to the reaction member and surrounds the lower end of the rod. An upper end member is connected around the upper end of the rod and supports a connecting member. A plastic sleeve is located around the rod and is connected to the upper end member and to the lower tubular member forming a sealed chamber between the rod and the inside wall of the plastic sleeve. Two inlets extend through the upper end member to the chamber for injecting a liquid and a gas under pressure for providing protection for the rod. An enlarged bushing plate is coupled to the upper end member and to the rod by way of the plastic sleeve at a lower position for transferring a portion of the load applied to the connecting means to the wall of the hole.

  • Patent number: 4627413
Abstract: A frame with log holding bars has two sets of arms pivotally coupled to opposite sides and links pivotally coupled to the upper ends of each set of arms such that the links and arms may be pivoted between rear and forward positions. The rear end of a screen is pivotally coupled to the upper ends of the rear arms and to the rear ends of the two links such that the screen may move with the links above the log holding bars and be pivoted to an upward non-operative position and to an operative position next to the links for use for cooking and meat loading and turning purposes.

  • Patent number: 4316350
Abstract: A wing screw earth anchor formed by a metal casting adapted to be rotatably embedded in the ground by a powered device generally referred to as a digging machine. The particular design of the earth anchor of this invention has a central body projecting to a point. Opposite the point is a drive nut which receives the shaft of a digging machine for screwably embedding the anchor in the earth. Between the point and the drive nut is a cylindrical anchor cylinder from which projects an anchoring spiral. The spiral projects outward from the point in a 90.degree. arc from zero to four inches, which is the maximum radius of the anchoring spiral. In the subsequent, central segment, which extends from 180.degree., the radius is constant at four inches. The final segment of the anchoring signal is a trailing taper which extends from 120.degree. terminating in a trailing point.

  • Patent number: 4178726
Abstract: A releaseable telescoping device for protecting the threads of a rod of an earth anchor against corrosion is shown. The releaseable telescoping device has a plurality of sheath sections of dissimilar radii connected by small radially extending flanges therebetween to resemble the external configuration of an extended telescope. An expansion plate is connected to the rod above the threads and radially extends therefrom. After packing the telescoping device with a pliable protective material, such as tar, the threaded portion of the rod is inserted in the telescoping device which has one end affixed to the expansion plate. By threading an anchor nut on the end of the threaded rod, the earth anchor is readied for insertion in the ground. Upon insertion of the earth anchor in the ground and rotating the rod, the anchor nut advances on the threads thereby shearing each radially extending flange respectively to close the telescoping device, yet still protect threads above the anchor nut.

  • Patent number: 4174595
Abstract: Anchor rods are protected against corrosion by inserting sealant within an anchor eye cap recess and bottom nut recess before fastening the eye and anchor member to the rod. Protective rod covering also is within the recesses.

  • Patent number: 4164082
Abstract: A digger housing having a trencher extendable therefrom is mounted on a truck such that it pivots about two axes. A rod slot having a slanted bottom is dug by pivoting the housing and trencher about the axes. An anchor slot having slanted sides, with one of the sides intersecting the rod slot, is dug by extending the trencher from the repositioned housing. An anchor is buried with an anchor plate in the anchor slot and a rod in the rod slot.
