  • Patent number: 8806905
Abstract: A padlock includes a lock body, a shackle assembled with the lock body, a lock subassembly disposed in a cavity in the lock body, and a shackle retainer assembled with the lock body. The lock subassembly is operable between a locked position securing the shackle in a closed position and an unlocked position permitting movement of the shackle to an open position. The shackle retainer extends into a first shackle bore and is received in a recess in a first leg of the shackle. When the shackle is in the open position, the lock subassembly is manipulable to be moved from a first position to a second position to generate a space in the cavity aligned with the shackle retainer, such that the shackle retainer is extendable into the space for disengagement of the shackle retainer from the first shackle leg recess.

  • Publication number: 20110277853
Abstract: A valve assembly is provided in combination with a valve lockout device. The valve assembly includes a valve body, a valve handle, and first and second ports connected with corresponding first and second conduits. The valve lockout device includes a frame member secured to the valve, a shroud member assembled with the frame member, and a locking mechanism secured to the frame member. The frame member and shroud member define an enclosure enclosing the valve. At least one of the frame member and shroud member at least partially defines a first opening positioned to receive the first conduit therethrough, and a second opening positioned to receive the second conduit therethrough. The locking mechanism is operable between a locked condition in which the shroud member is secured to the frame member, and an unlocked condition in which the shroud member is removable from the frame member to access the valve.

  • Publication number: 20030159479
Abstract: A locking device for locking systems that use different key cylinder types. The locking device is capable of allowing a key to be removed when a lock is in an unlocked position or retaining the key within the padlock body in an unlocked position. The device prevents fatigue of an internal torsion spring and creates more stability for all the internal mechanisms inside the padlock body.
