Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and compositions for prevention or treatment of bone loss due to periodontal disease, oral osseous surgery, periodontal flap surgery, tooth extraction, dental implants, or scaling and root planing comprising topical administration, to mucosal tissues of the oral cavity, of a composition having from about 0.001% to about 0.2% ketorolac in the oral cavity.

Abstract: The subject invention relates to methods for preventing or treating damage to the mucosal lining of the gastrointestinal tract of a human or lower animal by administering a safe and effective amount of a compound having the structure: ##STR1## wherein X and Y are each independently selected from O and S; R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are each independently selected from hydrogen, hydroxy, halo, unsubstituted or monosubstituted straight or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkanyl, and unsubstituted or substituted straight or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkanoxy; and each of R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 is hydrogen or, if one or more of R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 is other than hydrogen, each of R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 is selected from hydrogen, halo, trifluoromethyl, and unsubstituted straight or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkanyl.

Abstract: The subject invention relates to compositions in dosage form comprising a solid dispersion which is a solidified melt mixture consisting essentially of the following components:(a) from about 15% to about 75% of tebufelone;(b) from about 25% to about 65% of a poloxamer surfactant having a melting point of about 40.degree. C. or greater, the poloxamer surfactant consisting essentially of a block copolymer having three polymer blocks, a middle block of poly(oxypropylene) with a molecular weight of from about 1450 daltons to about 6000 daltons, and end blocks of poly(oxyethylene), the end blocks being from about 50% to about 90% of the copolymer; and(c) from 0% to about 60% of other components, wherein the other components are miscible with a melt mixture of components (a) and (b).

Abstract: The subject invention involves compositions, consisting essentially of the drug active 1-3,5-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-hydroxyphenyl-5-hexyn-1-one (tebufelone) at a concentration of at least about 15%, and the balance a pharmaceutically-acceptable vehicle. The vehicle is formulated such that the compositions are homogeneous liquids at 37.degree. C. and provide good solubilization of the drug active.

Abstract: Skin conditioning compositions comprising an alkali metal phosphoric acid ester salt of a partial glyceride, silicone fluid, a long chain alkyl ester of a fatty acid, an emollient material, an emulsifier and water. The phosphated glyceride and the dimethicone fluid serve to provide greater retention of the conditioning composition on the skin.
