  • Publication number: 20120041759
Abstract: A mobile replacement-dialogue recording system enables the creation of replacement-dialogue items by mobile users not at a media recording studio. Studio-users prepare guide media video, audio and text data which are made available to mobile users through a media server. A mobile user's mobile replacement-dialogue recording device obtains guide media and allows the user to view the guide media in rehearsal mode. The mobile replacement-dialogue recording device then records the mobile user's dialogue performance while presenting the mobile user with synchronized guide media. The mobile user can review, delete, and rerecord the resulting potential replacement dialogue, as well as create feedback media characterizing the replacement dialogue. Selected replacement dialogue items can be transmitted to the media server. A studio-module can then obtain the selected replacement dialogue items and feedback media from the media server so that they may be used in media-replacement.

  • Patent number: 8033889
Abstract: A drinking cup that has a removable lid with three different types of drink delivery novelties. The first is a rotary drive dispenser. In which fluid is drawn up in a straw. At the top of the straw is a rotary arm, which is free to rotate. As the fluid is brought up through the straw, it is forced out of holes formed in the rotary arm causing the arm spins around the straw. As it rotates, the fluid is dispensed into a sump where a drinking straw is used to remove it. In the second design, fluid rises up through the straw where it exits the straw like a fountain spray. In the third design, a tall tube extends up from the lid. A ball sits in the tube. As the fluid is brought up, the ball is propelled upward inside the tube.

  • Patent number: 7839560
Abstract: A spatial light modulator comprises an array of individually addressable pixels enclosed within a space formed by a package lid and a package substrate. An aperture through which incident visible light pass into the package is formed on the package lid. In display systems employing the spatial light modulator, the illumination system is focused on a plane away from the pixels of the spatial light modulator so as to reduce cost.

  • Publication number: 20100289349
Abstract: A generator includes a housing and a stator arranged within the housing. The stator includes a first end that extends to a second end, and a plurality of axial flow passages extending between the first and second ends. The generator also includes at least one air flow re-direction member provided on at least one of the first and second ends of the stator. The at least one air flow re-direction member fluidly connects adjacent ones of the plurality of axial flow passages. The at least one air flow re-direction member guides an air flow passing though one of the plurality of axial flow passages in a first direction into an adjacent one of the plurality of axial flow passages in a second direction, the second direction being distinct from the first direction.

  • Publication number: 20100269592
Abstract: A structural integrity monitoring system includes a structure, at least two vibration monitoring devices mounted to the structure. Each of the at least two vibration monitoring devices outputs a vibration response signal. The structural integrity monitoring system also includes a controller operatively connected to each of the at least two vibration monitoring devices. The controller is configured to calculate a predicted vibration response based upon a vibration mode shape and the vibration response signal. The controller then compares the predicted vibration response against a measured vibration response to detect changes in the structure.

  • Patent number: 7118159
Abstract: A convertible tonneau cover is positionable between a covering configuration wherein the tonneau covers a pickup truck bed and a rack position wherein the tonneau forms a material handling rack. A base frame attaches to and outlines an upper periphery of the truck bed. A pair of door assemblies is pivotally attached to the frame on opposite sides of the longitudinal midline of the frame that runs from the head of the truck bed to the tailgate. Each door assembly pivots between a closed position, flush with the frame and covering the bed, and an open position extending diagonally upwardly from the frame. In the open position each door assembly has kickstands that pivot downward and secure within the frame while brackets connect between the two door assemblies in order to form a material carrying rack.

  • Patent number: 5938733
Abstract: An object oriented representation for sending network protocol requests between a first and a second process in a computer network. In an object oriented implementation of a protocol stack a network definition object is used for defining an interface to a communication endpoint for a client application and a network address object for defining the communication endpoint. The protocol stack is formed by layers of instances of a protocol interface class object for defining protocol interface for a protocol layer in the protocol stack and a protocol layer class object for defining the protocol layers in the stack. The network protocol requests are sent in an instance of one of a set of network operation classes each of which correspond to a method in the protocol interface class. The client requests are wrapped in the network operation object which contains all the necessary information so the request can be presented to the appropriate protocol layer object in the protocol stack.

  • Patent number: 5764915
Abstract: An object oriented protocol interface for establishing a communication path between communication endpoints in a computer network. The generic nature of the interface allows any and several protocol layers to be developed from the same set of protocol class objects. The interface to a communication endpoint for a client application is defined by instantiating a network definition object for the communication endpoint from a network definition class object. The communication endpoint itself is represented by instantiating a network address object from a network address class object. The protocol layers which form the protocol stack are derived from a set of protocol interface objects from a protocol interface class object and a set of protocol layer objects from a protocol layer class object. The objects forming each of the layers in the protocol stack differ in their capabilities according to their respective layer and the protocol which is provided by the protocol stack.

  • Patent number: 5747893
Abstract: A termination scheme for twisted-wire pairs for network communication systems, such as Fast Ethernet 100BaseTX, where the wires are electrically connected together and a single resistor is coupled in series between the junction of the wires and ground. A capacitor may also be coupled between the resistor and ground for DC isolation purposes. The single resistor preferably has a resistance equivalent to half of the common mode impedance between the unused pairs. The two wires of each pair are shorted together since there is no differential signal between the two wires. In this manner, two differential impedance resistors are eliminated, thereby reducing size and cost of the system without degrading performance.

  • Patent number: 3993891
Abstract: A high speed parallel digital adder/subtracter employing a specially chosen combination of "conditional" and "look-ahead" approaches which permits economically achieving high speed operation even for input operands containing relatively large numbers of digits. In a preferred embodiment, simultaneously produced look-ahead carry and carry-not signals are generated and employed to select particular ones of simultaneously generated conditional sums for one or more operand digits so as to simultaneously provide resulting digital sums which properly represent the sum of the input operands.
