  • Patent number: 6110095
Abstract: An apparatus and related method for forming a double face paperboard web are disclosed. The apparatus of the present invention includes a heating section upstream from a drawing section. The heating section includes at least one heating plate having an upper surface facing a paperboard web and heated by a plurality of primary channels supplied with steam. A plurality of secondary channels extend through the heating plate intermediate the primary channels and a lower surface of the plate. A plurality of outlet ports communicate with each secondary channel and the upper surface of the heating plate. Steam supplied to the secondary channels exits through the outlet ports thereby producing a steam film between the upper surface of the heating plate and the lower surface of the paperboard web. The steam film substantially reduces frictional forces opposing movement of the web while also dramatically increasing the heat transfer to the paperboard web and accelerating the gelatinization of the glue therein.

  • Patent number: 4800357
Abstract: A transformer support assembly for holding primary and secondary coils and a pair of U-shaped cores in operative relation, the assembly comprising first and second integrally-formed, one-piece bobbins, each bobbin including a post axially extending between opposed flanges spaced for windingly receiving one of the coils around the post, each bobbin having an axial bore through the post and flanges for receiving one leg of each held core in opposed relation, and an integrally-formed, one-piece separator including C-shaped channels for engaging corresponding flanges of both the bobbins to position the posts in generally parallel, spaced relation and opposed pairs of jaws adapted to grip base portions of held cores for biasing the legs thereof toward one another in axially opposed relation in said bores.

  • Patent number: 4687093
Abstract: A universal vibratory feeder has a removable tray provided with a continuous serpentine path. A plurality of carriers are received in the path, and articles of manufacture are carried by the carriers around the path in the tray. A vibrating platen beneath the tray has a plurality of bristles engaging the bottom of the respective carriers. The bristles are oriented in the direction of travel of the carriers around the path. The path in the tray is formed by a continuous through opening which separates the tray into two portions. The carriers straddle the thickness of the tray and are in substantial abutting relationship to one another throughout the path, thereby precluding the tray portions from separating.
