Abstract: A vent assembly (453) for a high pressure die casting system including a pair of opposed chill blocks (450, 452) having corresponding chill surfaces defining a continuous vent chamber therebetween, each of the chill surfaces comprising a plurality of adjoining chill faces (62, 136, 162, 163, 170) extending the length of the vent chamber, each chill face having a corresponding chill face on the paired chill block defining a section of the vent chamber, the plane of each chill face being oriented at an angle to an adjoining chill face on the corresponding block. Preferably the chill face on a chill block is substantially equidistant from the chill face of the corresponding chill block defining the respective section of the vent chamber.

Abstract: A system for disinfecting the water lines of a dental unit is provided with first and second unidirectional check valves. Water at a first pressure is normally supplied to the water lines of the dental unit through the first check valve. A reservoir of liquid disinfectant can be pressurized at a second pressure higher than the first pressure by the air compressor already equipping the dental unit to supply disinfectant to the water lines of the dental unit through the second check valve. Liquid disinfectant is prevented from reaching the water supply line by the first check valve. In the same manner, when the reservoir is not pressurized, the second check valve prevents water from the water supply line from reaching the disinfectant.

Abstract: The headset comprises left and right elongate ear pieces having respective first ends to receive ear tips and respective, interconnected second ends. Each ear piece includes a one-piece elongate body made of flexible and resilient material and curved outwardly to skirt round the user's head when the ear tips are applied to a user's ears. The elongate body is formed with a first length of smaller cross section and therefore of greater flexibility proximate the second end of the corresponding ear piece and with a second length of lower flexibility situated between that first length and the corresponding ear tip. Bending of the elongate bodies when the ear pieces are spread apart is therefore concentrated in the first lengths and pressure applied to the user's ears by the ear tips is mainly produced by the bent first lengths and transmitted to the ear tips through the second lengths of lower flexibility.

Abstract: A counter-height water dispenser which is comprised of a housing having a top wall disposed at substantially counter height. A water reservoir is supported in a top part of the housing. The reservoir has an open-top end section and a bottom cooling well section. The top wall is formed as a cover which is removably secured over an open area of the housing for access to an opening in the open-top end section of the reservoir. A compressor and condensor coil is mounted below the reservoir with a cooling coil being associated therewith. The cooling coil is disposed about the well section of the reservoir. An outlet port is provided in the well section and is connected to a low-pressure electric pump. The pump has an outlet tube connected to a dispensing faucet which is removably secured on the top wall of the housing adjacent the open area. The faucet has a low-pressure sealing coupling in its connection with the outlet tube.
