  • Publication number: 20150217076
Abstract: A detection system and method comprising a proximal end that connects to a ventilating device, a distal end that connects to a ventilating tube, a lumen between the proximal end and the distal end, a housing surrounding the lumen that couples the proximal end and the distal end, wherein at least a portion of the housing is transparent, and at least one detection element at least partially exposed to gases in the lumen, whereby continuously monitoring the proper positioning of the ventilating tube in an airway.

    Publication date: August 6, 2015
Inventors: Gary Steven Sichau, Terence Kernan Gray
  • Publication number: 20130247321
Abstract: A device for brushing teeth comprising a head having a plurality of bristles, a handle constructed and arranged for holding and manipulating the device, and a flexible neck coupled between said head and said handle, wherein the flexible neck bends relative to the handle when an external pressure greater than a maximum predetermined pressure is exerted against the head, to prevent more than a maximum predetermined pressure from being exerted against teeth by the head of the device.

  • Patent number: 8424516
Abstract: A ventilation system and method with a ventilating tube, a stylet removably disposed within the ventilating tube, and a proximal housing. A proximal housing includes a proximal end that connects to the ventilating tube, a distal end that connects to a ventilating machine, a lumen between the proximal end and distal end, an external wall between the proximal end and distal end, a filter contained within the external wall, surrounding the lumen, and connecting the proximal end and distal end, and a cavity between the filter and the external wall. A proximal housing contains at least one detection element and can be sensitive to carbon dioxide. The same proximal housing contains at least one treatment element to heat, cool, humidify, dehumidify, or provide medication to the lumen of the proximal housing.

Date of Patent: April 23, 2013
Inventors: Terence Kernan Gray, Gary Steven Sichau, Niall Patrick Casey
  • Patent number: 8378511
Abstract: A device that converts kinetic energy of waves of a body of water into electricity comprising a structure responsive to the kinetic energy, a rod extending through the structure; and an electromagnet positioned in the structure, and at least partially surrounding a portion of the rod. The electricity is generated in the rod when the electromagnet rises and falls along the rod in response to the kinetic energy. A magnetic field generated by the electromagnet has a varying strength that is modified according to the amount of kinetic energy to maximize the electricity generated.

Date of Patent: February 19, 2013
Inventors: Gary Steven Sichau, Zigmunt Michna
