Abstract: The invention is a method of bonding a ceramic part to a metal part by heating a component assembly comprised of the metal part, the ceramic part, and a very thin essentially pure interlayer material of a compatible interlayer material placed between the two parts and heated at a temperature that is greater than the temperature of the eutectic formed between the metal part and the metal interlayer material, but that is less than the melting point of either the interlayer material, the ceramic part or the metal part. The component assembly is held in intimate contact at temperature in a non-reactive atmosphere for a sufficient time to develop a hermetic and strong bond between the ceramic part and the metal part. The bonded component assembly is optionally treated with acid to remove any residual free nickel and nickel salts, to assure a biocompatible component assembly for implantation in living tissue.

Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and program for caching a virtualized data structure table. In one embodiment, an input/output (I/O) device has a cache subsystem for a data structure table which has been virtualized. As a consequence, the data structure table cache may be addressed using a virtual address or index. For example, a network adapter may maintain an address translation and protection table (TPT) which has virtually contiguous data structures but not necessarily physically contiguous data structures in system memory. TPT entries may be stored in a cache and addressed using a virtual address or index. Mapping tables may be stored in the cache as well and addressed using a virtual address or index.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for detecting an intrusion to a communications network. One embodiment describes a peripheral card having a communications portion and a processor. The communications portion has only a capability for receiving data packets via the communications network. The communications portion lacks capability of transmitting the data packets via the communications network. The processor manages the communications portion, and the communications portion reduces intrusion of the communications network.

Abstract: A stimulating coil for use in the magnetic stimulation of neuro-muscular tissue comprises a self-supporting but flexible conductor in a flexible insulating sheath which can be adjusted by hand to conform the coil to the contours of a selected part of the human body. The coil is provided with a cooling system which includes a conduit disposed adjacent or within the coil and a pump for driving coolant through the conduit.

Abstract: A protective device is provided in which the protective device comprises a bag configured to fit over a toilet to be protected. An opening in the bag permits placement of the bag over a toilet, and a securing feature can be used to secure the bag to the toilet. In certain embodiments, the securing feature comprises a drawstring. In other embodiments, the bag may comprise printed text, such as a warning not to use the protected fixture. In yet other embodiments, small holes can be provided in the bag for safety purposes. A protected toilet is also provided, in which a toilet is protected by a protective device, as discussed above. A method of protecting a toilet is also provided, in which a bag is placed over a toilet and secured to the toilet.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system are disclosed. In one embodiment the method comprises determining whether a feature on a device is permitted to be enabled, determining whether a total number of enabled features on the device is less than or equal to a maximum number of allowable features on the device, and allowing the enabling of the device feature if the device feature is permitted to be enabled and the total number of enabled features on the device is less than or equal to the maximum number of allowable features on the device.

Abstract: A field-installable rod guide for a rod moveable within an oilfield tubular having an interior tubular surface for driving a downhole pump to pump liquids to the surface through the oilfield tubular. The rod guide comprises a body including interfitting body members. An outer tapered surface on one body member is engaged by an inner taper-engagement surface on the other body member, to urge the body members toward a rod gripping position about the rod. The mechanism disclosed provides a particularly strong engagement with the rod, so that the rod guide may be used for either reciprocating or rotating rods. For rotating type rod guides, an outer sleeve may be included about the body.

Two or more rails of a heat resistant ceramic material provide a curvilinear surface on which the billet can slide into and out of the coil and sit on during the heating process. Rail position adjustment means may be provided for moving the rails to accommodate billets of various sizes.

Abstract: The present invention provides methods and compositions for producing high titer preparations of recombinant AAV (“rAAV”) virions. The compositions of the present invention include AAV helper function systems and host cells. The present invention also includes methods of using AAV helper function vectors that effect the production of only small amounts of the long forms of Rep protein, and rAAV virions produced by such methods.

Abstract: A coating combination suitable for use in coating architectural surfaces which comprises in combination a lidable container, a coating composition provided within the lidable container, and a buoyant coating contacting member (4) including at least one aperture disposed substantially horizontally within the lidable container. The buoyant coating contacting member has physical properties selected from at least one of shape, density, number of apertures, and total area of apertures such that the buoyant coating contacting member is buoyant on the coating composition and submersible within the coating composition to the extent that under a downwards force from a coating applicator, a portion of the coating composition is allowed to flow through the at least one aperture such that the coating applicator can pick up the coating composition. When the combination has a lid, the lid is removed for insertion of the applicator for the exertion of downward pressure.

The tree structures are traversed and scores are computed for the paths traversed that reflect the level of matching between the match pattern data of the nodes in a path and a search request to identify a database record that best matches the request.

Abstract: A glass article which has a water-sheeting coating. In one embodiment, a glass sheet is provided bearing a sputtered water-sheeting coating comprising silica on an exterior surface and bearing a reflective coating on an interior surface. The interior surface of a sheet of glass can be coated with a reflective coating by sputtering, in sequence, at least one dielectric layer, at least one metal layer, and at least one dielectric layer. The exterior surface of the glass can be coated with a water-sheeting coating by sputtering silica directly onto the exterior surface of the sheet of glass. Both the reflective coating and the water-sheeting coating can optionally be applied during the same pass through the same sputter coating apparatus.

Abstract: A dial plan for a gateway in a packet based voice system provides call re-direct functionality to the system. The dial plan allows a gateway to process all incoming and outgoing calls for an enterprise, thereby minimizing required interface with an existing PBX. The dial plan identifies a given call as an incoming call from a data network, an incoming call from the PSTN, or an outgoing call from the PBX at an enterprise. The dial plan further identifies a desired route for transmitting the call to a desired destination. If the desired route is over a data network, the dial plan tests the route to determine its availability, and if it is not available determines an alternate re-direct route over the PSTN.

Abstract: A method for integrating various processes is described. The method includes managing of data by a first business unit, where managing of data includes at least one of storing-the data within a data repository and editing the data. The method also includes automatically sending a notification from the first business unit to a second business unit after the first business unit has completed managing the data.
