  • Publication number: 20240091442
Abstract: Methods, devices and systems are disclosed for inter-app communications between software applications on a mobile communications device. In one aspect, a computer-readable medium on a mobile computing device comprising an inter-application communication data structure to facilitate transitioning and distributing data between software applications in a shared app group for an operating system of the mobile computing device includes a scheme field of the data structure providing a scheme id associated with a target software app to transition to from a source software app, wherein the scheme id is listed on a scheme list stored with the source software app; and a payload field of the data structure providing data and/or an identification where to access data in a shared file system accessible to the software applications in the shared app group, wherein the payload field is encrypted.

  • Publication number: 20240071593
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that provide smart alerts to users, e.g., alerts to users about diabetic states that are only provided when it makes sense to do so, e.g., when the system can predict or estimate that the user is not already cognitively aware of their current condition, e.g., particularly where the current condition is a diabetic state warranting attention. In this way, the alert or alarm is personalized and made particularly effective for that user. Such systems and methods still alert the user when action is necessary, e.g., a bolus or temporary basal rate change, or provide a response to a missed bolus or a need for correction, but do not alert when action is unnecessary, e.g., if the user is already estimated or predicted to be cognitively aware of the diabetic state warranting attention, or if corrective action was already taken.

  • Publication number: 20030024595
Abstract: New or unused consumable product is distributed with a package capable of capturing the used or spent product for transmission to a recycling or disposal facility. The package is preaddressed for delivery to an appropriate reclamation center or disposal facility, with prepaid delivery charges for a commercial package service. At the reclamation center or disposal facility, the used or spent product is separated from the package for recycling and reusable portions of the package are again packaged with new or unused product, with any waste materials being properly handled. In the exemplary embodiment of motor oil, the package includes a drain pan jug for capturing the used motor oil and a shell for transmitting the drain pan jug and its contents to a reclamation facility. The shell may be reused until no longer serviceable, at which time it may be recycled. The drain pan jug, after use, may be shredded and utilized as fuel.

  • Patent number: 5139576
Abstract: A method and apparatus for sequential launching a plurality of pipeline pigs in serial manner into a gas transmission pipeline. The pig launching system incorporates a tubular magazine for receiving a plurality of pigs and having a free piston movably disposed therein. A source of hydraulic fluid medium is provided and is injected into the magazine behind the free piston for movement of the free piston and the pigs for pig launching. A gas energized liquid pump is operated by gas pressure from the gas transmission pipeline under the control of a timer operated gas supply valve for selective introduction of hydraulic fluid medium into the magazine. A control panel incorporating control circuitry is programmable to achieve timed launching of the pigs into the pipeline and shuts down the pig launching mechanism after each pig has been launched. The control circuitry is also capable of rendering an alarm signal if pig launching is not achieved within a predetermined time period.

  • Patent number: 4709719
Abstract: Apparatus for launching and retrieving cup pigs in pipelines. A vertically oriented pig launching barrel is isolated from pipeline pressure, blown down to atmospheric pressure and then loaded with a number of cup pigs. After the pig launching barrel has been sealed and equalized with line pressure it is placed in pig launching communication with the pipeline. Holding and launching rams are then actuated automatically in accordance with a timed sequence or selectively under manual control to cause sequential or selective gravity and flow induced launching of cup pigs into the pipeline. Following passage through the pipeline the cup pigs are separated from the flowing fluid by a pig receiving barrel which is also capable of containing a number of cup pigs.
