    Abstract: Provided is a method of documenting a medical procedure including receiving medical data captured during the medical procedure to be documented. Information indicative of an identity of at least one of a patient that is a subject of the medical procedure and a physician involved with the medical procedure is received. The medical data is stored in a non-transitory computer readable medium associated with the at least one of the patient and the physician. Access to the medical data stored on the computer readable medium is restricted, allowing the physician involved with the medical procedure to subsequently retrieve the medical data stored in the computer readable medium and view the medical data retrieved. Restricting access to the recorded medical data prevents another physician, who may not have been involved in the medical procedure, from viewing the medical data without first entering information indicative of authorization to view the medical data.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for recording electronic data onto a portable computer-readable medium to be given to an end user for allowing the end user to review the electronic data in a private setting with a personal computer. The publisher includes a recorder for recording the electronic data on the portable computer-readable medium, an automated feeder for supplying the portable computer-readable medium to the recorder without intervention by an operator, and a user interface presenting the operator with one or more options that the operator can select to enter a command for controlling operation of the publisher. A printer is provided for printing onto a surface of a label at least variable label content that is related to the electronic data that can be retrieved from the computer-readable medium and reviewed by the end user.

    Abstract: An X-ray collimator is provided to permit diagnostic medical imaging of two or more radioactive isotopes emitting spectrically close gamma rays. The collimator includes a filter plate at one or both ends of the collimator's tubular passageways with the filter plate having a plurality of openings extending therethrough which are aligned and coincident with the tubular passageways. The openings in the filter provide a thin filtering edge adjacent the collimator passageway ends which interact with and remove substantially most of the unwanted secondary and scattered radiation produced by photons striking septa within the collimator's passageways.

    Abstract: A medical diagnostic system utilizing the principles of nuclear medicine is disclosed. The system includes a gantry having a detector support section supported by a carriage section located on a rail system for movement along a linear path. A nuclear detector is supported on a pair of weighted arms pivotally mounted on the detector support system about an axis perpendicular to the rail system. The detector is itself pivotally mounted near an end of the weighted arm pair for tilting rotation about an axis parallel to the arm pivot axis. Mechanism is provided for rotating the weighted arms additionally about an axis parallel to the rail system, in order to accomplish orbital motion of the detector. All three of these rotational movements are power actuated. A stationary pedestal and cantilevered patient support table is located between the rails of the rail system, with the patient table extending longitudinally with respect to the rails.
