  • Patent number: 5738499
Abstract: A fluid delivery/extracting device is provided for extracting fluid from and delivering fluid to a reservoir of a vehicle. The device includes a cylidrical body formed from a tube, a bottom member and a top member. The top member comprises an annular member and a closure which closes the annular member. A pair of fittings extending through the closure, one of which has a portion extending below the closures top surface. A dip tube is applied to the this fitting and extends nearly to the bottom of the container. A first hose extends from the first fitting outer portion to a reservoir to be filled or emptied and is sufficiently long to extend to the bottom of the reservoir. A second hose extends from the second fitting and is connectable to any vacuum port of a vehicle if the device is to be used to empty the reservoir, or to a supply of pressurized air, if the device is to be used to fill the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 5175156
Abstract: The administration of chromic picolinate, preferably in the form of chromic tripicolinate, as a prophylactic or therapeutic agent for controlling various blood serum parameters. In particular, the administration is for controlling blood serum lipid levels, including the lowering of undesirably high blood serum LDL-cholesterol levels and the raising of blood serum HDL-cholesterol levels. Additionally, the administration is for controlling undesirable high blood serum glucose levels, this being particularly applicable for the treatment of maturity-onset diabetes. Additionally, chromic picolinate, preferably in the form of chromic tripicolinate, is administered to facilitate uptake of amino acids by skeletal muscle. Thus chromic picolinate can act as an effective anabolic agent.

  • Patent number: 5085996
Abstract: A method, and composition suitable for use therein, which produces enhanced microorganism growth in vitro. The microorganism, for example fungi (e.g. yeast) or bacteria cells, is cultured in a medium containing an exogenously added growth promoter selected from picolinic acid and a metal picolinate, most preferably selected from picolinic acid, chromic tripicolinate and zinc dipicolinate. The method is applicable both to eukaryote and prokaryote cells.

  • Patent number: 5057320
Abstract: A method of enhancing mammalian skin respiration, and in particular promoting healing of injured skin, comprises supplying to the skin a composition consisting essentially of picolinic acid, or comprising picolinic acid in which composition is substantially free of impurities from yeast. The composition preferably provides at least 50,000 Units, and further preferably 500,000 Units, of Skin Respiratory Factor per gram of the composition.

  • Patent number: 4315927
Abstract: The levels of essential metals in the mammalian system can be precisely controlled by administering these metals in the form of exogenously synthesized coordination complexes of picolinic acid. The complexes are characterized by the following structural formula: ##STR1## wherein M represents the metallic cation and n is equal to the cation's valence.
