  • Patent number: 5251936
Abstract: A two-part sheet construction (10) that may be separated into its individual parts without tearing is provided. First (12) and second (22) sheet segments, each segment having front (14, 24) and back (16, 26) sides and first (18, 24) and second (20, 30) opposed edges overlap each other at the second edge (20) of the first sheet segment (12) and the first edge (28) of the second sheet segment (22). The segments (12, 22) are joined together by a coating of a repeatedly releasable self-stick adhesive (32) applied to the first sheet segment (12) where the first sheet segment (12) is overlapped by the second sheet segment (22). Substantially the entirety of each of the front sides (14, 24) of both sheet segments (12, 22) are exposed when the segments are joined. A plurality of the two-part sheet constructions (10) may be stacked and formed into a pad of overlapping sheets (36) by joining the first edges (18 ) of the first sheet segments (12) together.

  • Patent number: 5199924
Abstract: A structure and method for making overlapping multipart business form unit sets is provided. A repositionably adhered sheet segment unit includes at least two sheet segments having a front side and a back side in corresponding edges. The sheet segments are in side-by-side relation, such that adjacent edges overlap defining an interface. A repositionable adhesive strip is located on at least one of the overlapping edges of the adjacent segments defining an interface. At least one of the front and back sides of at least one of the sheet segments has an image transfer medium coating. The method of making an overlapping multipart business form unit set includes providing a repositionable adhesive sheet segment unit and printing indicia on at least one of the sheet segments with a printer. The sheet segments are then separated by breaking the adhesion at the overlapping edges.

  • Patent number: 4955526
Abstract: An envelope assembly 12 including a front 22 and a back 24 joined together by adhesives 38, 52, 54, 58, 60, 62 and 64 form a pocket and a tear strip 124 in the back 24 for opening the envelope and achieving access to the pocket including an elongated line 110 of adjacent Y-shaped cuts 112 in the back 24 with the base 114 of each Y-shaped cut 112 terminating at a location between the arms 116 of an adjacent Y-shaped cut 112, and an elongated slit 118 in the back 24 and intersecting the line 110.

  • Patent number: 4928874
Abstract: A business form for use in shipping operations including a sheet 22 of face stock material having pressure sensitive adhesive 28 on one side thereof, a release liner 24 removably adhered to the pressure sensitive adhesive 28, a transparent sheet 16 adhered to along two spaced marginal edges to the face stock sheet 22 and having a marginal edge 60 stopping short of the corresponding edge 62 of the face stock sheet, and at least one pressure sensitive imaging data sheet 18, 20 between the transparent sheet 16 and the face stock sheet and having marginal edges 70, 72, 74, 76 inward of the two marginal edges of the transparent sheet 16 so as to be free from adhesion thereto and having a third marginal edge 64, 66 extending past the one marginal edge 60 of the transparent sheet 16.

  • Patent number: 4747535
Abstract: An envelope assembly including first and second plies 10, 70 respectively defining a front and back of an envelope along with an intermediate insert ply 40 having a message section 50 and an attachment section 52 with the message section 50 being connected by a small frangible tie 56 to the attaching section 52. A U-shaped glue line 84 secures the first and second plies 10, 70 together and one of the plies 10, 70 is provided with a tab 22 firmly secured to the attaching section 52. The ties 56 provide registration during manufacture and subsequent printing and yet are easily ruptured when the tab 22 is stripped from the form, taking the attachment section 52 with it to thereby free the message section 50 for ready removal from the envelope.

  • Patent number: 4343492
Abstract: A business form including first and second superimposed plies of paper (10,12) and each having an information receiving portion (14,16). Contact adhesive (30) is disposed on one of the plies and a release liner (32) covers the same. The ply (12) having the contact adhesive (30) is completely slit (26) adjacent one edge and an easily releasable glue structure (38) secures the two plies together adjacent the slit (36). The release liner (32) is removed from the form to expose the contact adhesive simply by grasping the edges (18,20) of the plies (10,12) adjacent the slit (36) and separating the same.
