  • Patent number: 8216980
Abstract: Micro channel array devices drawn from a bulk preform having an array of components to reduce the cross section. The reduced cross section fiber like structure is cut to produce individual arrays of small scale. End caps are drawn and optionally micro machined. The end caps are used to provide input and output ports and other structures for use with the micro channel arrays. A micro channel array may be used with different end caps for analysis and may form a lab on a chip or a component thereof.

  • Publication number: 20100088768
Abstract: A computer system and method are described for enforcing a locale-based license restriction by a process visualization application program. A locale-based license configuration is read from a license file associated with the process visualization application program. An operating system application program interface is called to identify a current locale of the operating system. The current locale affects a language utilized to present text via a graphical user interface display. Thereafter, a locale specified by the locale-based license configuration is compared to the current locale of the operating system. Thereafter, a licensing result is generated representing success or failure based upon whether the locale specified by the locale-based license configuration matches the current locale of the operating system. The aforementioned steps are carried out in a computer system including a computer-readable medium having computer-executable instructions for carrying out the above-described steps.

  • Patent number: 6856713
Abstract: An optical component and a method of making the same are provided. In one embodiment, the optical component is a low-OH optical fiber that includes a core and a cladding. The optical component is treated by immersion in a hydrogen gas atmosphere at a predetermined pressure, at a predetermined temperature and for a predetermined time period such that intrinsic and impurity defects of the optical component are destroyed. The method of making the optical component includes providing a preform having a content of OH-groups in the amount of about 0.1 to about 10.0 ppm and a content of chlorine in the amount of 0 to about 1000 ppm and drawing the preform to elongate it to form an optical component from the preform. The optical component is immersed in a hydrogen gas atmosphere at a predetermined pressure, at a predetermined temperature and for a predetermined time period that is sufficient to destroy intrinsic and impurity defects of the optical component.

  • Publication number: 20020145015
Abstract: This specification discloses carriages for a caulking gun. The preferred carriage includes an integral central housing section preferably made of extruded aluminum. The integral central housing section preferably has co-extruded ribs or thickened sections, at least some of which most preferably provide continuously-formed fastener passages. The carriage preferably also has planar end plates secured to the integral central housing section by fasteners such as, most preferably, self-tapping screws. The screws penetrate associated passages in the end plates and in the ribs or other end structure of the central housing section. The carriage may be adapted to accommodate one, two, or more tubes of flowable material such as caulk, epoxy components, adhesive, etc.

  • Patent number: 4942329
Abstract: A cantilevered drawer slide arrangement for supporting drawers where the slide hardward is entirely hidden inside the drawer cabinet. A pair of individual tracks are mounted on each side of the cabinet inside the front face. A square bracket having roller wheels fits on each side of the rear of the drawer. The forward wheel is behind the rear third of the drawer. The wheels ride in the tracks on each side and are kept in the cabinet by track stops. An adjustable drawer alignment screw on each side of the drawer between the drawer and the drawer cabinet provides a means to minimize the drawer side movement when the drawer is extended.

  • Patent number: 4580851
Abstract: A simplified drawer guiding system uses only (1) a single track on each side of the drawer, (2) a pair of universal brackets for mounting a pair of wheels on the rear upper or lower side corners of the drawer, to ride in the track, and (3) another pair of wheels, of small diameter, mounted just inside the front of the cabinet, and below the drawer for engagement by the lower sides of the drawer, to support the drawer at the front. Universal brackets, which may for example be triangular, are employed to secure the rollers on the rear corners of the drawer, with the same bracket being used for both the left and the right side, with the brackets being located either at the top or the bottom, and always using a single type of bracket. Similarly, the small diameter rollers preferably in the order of 5/8 inch may be mounted by a universal bracket, with the same type of bracket being secured both to a track at the front left-hand side of the drawer case, and to one at the front right-hand side thereof.

  • Patent number: 4244546
Abstract: A rear mounting bracket or mount for center guide type drawer guides is universally adjustable relative to the cabinet in which it is mounted. A base attaches one side of the mounting bracket to a mounting surface. A drawer guide attaching member connects the other side of the mounting bracket to a furniture-type drawer guide. An adjusting structure forms the interface between the base and guide attaching member and allows positional adjustment of the drawer guide. The structure includes friction-creating ribs which resist movement between the base and the guide attaching member. The use of an external force is consequently required to move the guide attaching member relative to the base. Once the correct position of the guide attaching member has been established, the adjusting structure increases the resistance to adjustment of the rear end of the drawer guide.
