Patent number: 11496229Abstract: A system includes a radio frequency (RF) connector terminal that is configured to connect to an antenna, and a RF transmitter that transmits RF power to the RF connector terminal. The system further includes a power measurement unit that measures, as a first power measurement, first RF power of the RF transmitter power that is reflected via the RF connector terminal, and a controller that causes a transmission path discontinuity between the RF transmitter and the RF connector terminal. The power measurement unit further measures, as a second power measurement, second RF power of the RF transmitter power that is reflected from the discontinuity. The controller further determines if a first antenna is connected to the RF connector terminal based on the first and second power measurements.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2020Date of Patent: November 8, 2022Assignee: Neptune Technology Group Inc.Inventors: Damon Lloyd Patton, Gary Wayne Hamilton, II

Patent number: 11038603Abstract: A system includes a radio frequency (RF) receiver having an input, and an antenna terminal configured to connect to an antenna. The system further includes one or more switches that switch the receiver input of the RF receiver to connect to a terminating load that is not an antenna or to an internal antenna, and noise level measurement circuitry that measures a first RF noise level across the terminating load or the internal antenna. The one or more switches further switch the receiver input of the RF receiver to connect to the antenna terminal, and the noise level measurement circuitry further measures a second RF noise level received at the antenna terminal. The system also includes a controller that determines whether an external antenna is connected to the antenna terminal based on the first RF noise level and the second RF noise level.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2020Date of Patent: June 15, 2021Assignee: Neptune Technology Group Inc.Inventors: Gary Wayne Hamilton, II, Steven Donald Bragg

Patent number: 7131506Abstract: A flightless rock auger is used for drilling postholes through rock with the use of hydraulic pressure and at slow revolution per minute. The rock auger is used in combination with a conventional flighted auger used for drilling postholes in dirt and clay. During a posthole drilling operation, the rock auger is substituted for a conventional flighted auger as needed for drilling through and removing rock or other hard material such as concrete from the posthole. The rock auger is designed for use at very low revolutions per minute and can function utilizing only the weight of the auger; however, the rock auger is designed for use with pressure drilling units as well for cutting a circular hole through the rock and forming a plug which is to be lodged in the cavity of the rock auger cylinder to be removed from the posthole.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 2003Date of Patent: November 7, 2006Assignee: Gator Rock Bits, Inc.Inventors: Gary Wayne Hamilton, Charles Hamilton

Patent number: 6494276Abstract: A rock auger for drilling postholes through rock without the use of hydraulic pressure and at a slow rate of revolutions per minute can function utilizing only the weight of the auger, shaft, and/or boom providing a floating auger to reduce shock and vibration stress on the auger, boom, and drive unit. It does not require any additional hydraulic pressure for cutting a circular hole through the rock and forming a plug which is to be lodged in the cavity of the rock auger cylinder to be removed from the posthole. A quick connection shaft enables the conventional flighted auger to be quickly substituted for the rock auger to facilitate fast removal of soft dirt from the posthole. A center drill bit can be disposed within the cutting head for extending outwardly pass the cutting edge thereof for starting the hole, breaking up rock, and holding the auger in position guiding it during the drilling operation.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 2000Date of Patent: December 17, 2002Assignee: Gator Rock Bits, Inc.Inventors: Gary Wayne Hamilton, Charles Hamilton
