  • Patent number: 11598318
Abstract: An assembly and method are provided for preventing exposure of personnel to an opening defined by a surface of a wind turbine. Accordingly, a hatch assembly is arranged adjacent to the opening. The hatch assembly includes a frame structure and a support structure. The frame structure includes a plurality of frame members arranged together to at least partially surrounded opening the plurality of frame members further define a passageway for receiving the support surface. The support surface is slidable between a first position and a second position. The support surface occludes the opening defined by the surface of the wind turbine when the support surface is in the first position and occludes the passageway defined by the plurality frame members when in the second position so as to prevent exposure of personnel to the opening.

  • Patent number: 11535181
Abstract: An apparatus for covering an open top of a transportation trailer container, such as a chip train carrying wood chips, is provided. A flexible cover (e.g. tarp) may be deployed and retracted using a roller moved overtop of the container using pivotable arms. An electrically powered covering mechanism automatically deploys and retracts the cover. The covering mechanism is powered by a supercapacitor, which is charged when connected to an external power source. A charging control circuit can selectably allow or inhibit charging of the supercapacitor depending on power demands of other electrical loads.

  • Patent number: 11496229
Abstract: A system includes a radio frequency (RF) connector terminal that is configured to connect to an antenna, and a RF transmitter that transmits RF power to the RF connector terminal. The system further includes a power measurement unit that measures, as a first power measurement, first RF power of the RF transmitter power that is reflected via the RF connector terminal, and a controller that causes a transmission path discontinuity between the RF transmitter and the RF connector terminal. The power measurement unit further measures, as a second power measurement, second RF power of the RF transmitter power that is reflected from the discontinuity. The controller further determines if a first antenna is connected to the RF connector terminal based on the first and second power measurements.

  • Publication number: 20220290857
Abstract: A method and system for monitoring a steam system through remotely monitoring numerous points of a saturated steam system, wherein the method compares a steam temperature sensed at a portion of the steam system by a first sensor to a threshold subcooled temperature derived by a pressure sensed by a second sensor at or near the same portion of the steam system, wherein the method emits a warning to the first sensor when the sensed saturated temperature exceeds the derived threshold subcooled temperature.

  • Patent number: 11443261
Abstract: Embodiments may include systems and methods to create and edit a representation of a worksite, to create various data objects, to classify such objects as various types of predefined “features” with attendant properties and layout constraints. As part of or in addition to classification, an embodiment may include systems and methods to create, associate, and edit intrinsic and extrinsic properties to these objects. A design engine may apply of design rules to the features described above to generate one or more solar collectors installation design alternatives, including generation of on-screen and/or paper representations of the physical layout or arrangement of the one or more design alternatives. Some embodiments may provide viewing, creating, and manipulating of multiple versions of a solar collector layout design for a particular installation worksite.

  • Publication number: 20220279766
Abstract: Systems and methods for tagging, culling, or tagging and culling fish include various elements. For example, the systems and methods may be implemented on a scale for weighing fish and may maintain a pre-determined color order to suggest a next-up color for a cull tag. In addition, the pre-determined color order may be dynamically updated in real time to account for overrides by an angler or releasing of an already caught fish. In an additional aspect, the scale may have an integrated global positioning system (GPS) sensor to capture position information associated with the catch and used to pull other relevant information.

  • Patent number: 11386512
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for generating permit sets. A rules engine can traverse various requirements of a rules data structure in conjunction with rule settings that define permitting rules in effect for a particular jurisdiction to determine a value for each requirement. Document objects may then be created by combining project inputs with the determined values. A composing engine can receive the document objects and populate one or more page templates with the document objects to create a permit set.

  • Patent number: 11387776
Abstract: An optimization engine determines an optimal configuration for a solar power system projected onto a target surface. The optimization engine identifies an alignment axis that passes through a vertex of a boundary associated with the target surface and then constructs horizontal or vertical spans that represent contiguous areas where solar modules may be placed. The optimization engine populates each span with solar modules and aligns the solar modules within adjacent spans to one another. The optimization engine then generates a performance estimate for a collection of populated spans. By generating different spans with different solar module types and orientations, the optimization engine is configured to identify an optimal solar power system configuration.
