    Abstract: The air conditioning system includes a housing having a vent portion and an ion generating unit positioned in the housing. The ion generating unit includes a first electrode, at least one second electrode, and a voltage generator that provides a constant potential difference between the first electrode and the second electrode. The second electrode is removable through a bottom surface of the housing from a resting position within the housing to a location external to the housing, and the second electrode is returnable through the bottom surface of the housing.
