    Abstract: An improved barometer mechanism is described having a simplified mechanical structure with a high degree of sensitivity. The barometer bellows is partially evacuated of air to a pressure about 10 kilopascals below normal atmospheric pressure and connected mechanically to a pressure indicator by a novel compound lever arrangement utilizing a pair of operably interconnected simple levers.
