  • Patent number: 10416851
Abstract: A content publisher can use a publisher tool to tag various content elements, which enables a user viewing content from the publisher to view related advertising. In at least some embodiments, the tool is a toolbar that the publisher can use to tag content elements such as images and text, whereby the toolbar can recommend related items to be linked to those content elements. The items can be associated with an entity, such as an advertiser or electronic retailer, that will provide some level of compensation to the publisher in return for the linking. Such an approach enables the publisher to monetize the content in a way that is minimally intrusive for the end user.

  • Patent number: 10413738
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed in which an external device such as a consumer mobile device (e.g., smart phone) is used as an external controller to bi-directionally communicate with an Implantable Medical Device (IMD) using a dedicated patient remote control (RC) as an intermediary device to translate communications between the two. The dedicated RC contains a graphical user interface allowing for control and monitoring of the IMD even if the mobile device is not present in the system, which is useful as a back-up should the mobile device experience problems. Use of the dedicated RC as an intermediary device broadens the utility of other computing devices to operate as an external controller for an IMD even if the computing device and IMD do not have compliant communication means.

  • Patent number: 10417011
Abstract: Methods, systems, and products are provided for thread-agile dynamic programming language (‘DPL’) program execution. Thread-agile DPL program execution may be carried out by receiving, in a message queue, a message for an instance of a DPL program and determining whether the host application has a stored state object for the instance of the DPL program identified by the message. If the host application has a stored state object for the DPL program, thread-agile DPL program execution may also carried out by retrieving the state object; preparing a thread available from a thread pool for execution of the instance of the DPL program in dependence upon the state object and an execution context for the instance of the DPL program; providing, to an execution engine for executing the DPL program, the state object and the prepared thread; and passing the message to the execution engine.

  • Patent number: 10417396
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a mechanism for a multi-tenant platform operator (or a developer or publisher of an application or an extension to an existing platform application) to control the access and functionality available within the application or extension on an account specific basis, based on the subscription license terms applicable to each account/customer. Embodiments of the invention enable a more practical and efficient management of access controls and functionality for a relatively large customer base, where certain accounts, customers, or users may be entitled to a different or at least partially different set of rights and functionality.

  • Patent number: 10416855
Abstract: In some embodiments, an asset integration service establishes a communication session between a design application and a client device for accessing source graphical assets from a web server executing a content management service. The integration service receives, during the communication session and via a design interface from the design application, a request to add a source graphical asset to a document displayed on the client device. The integration service retrieves, responsive to the request, a placement graphical asset that is a lower-resolution copy of the source graphical asset and updates the design interface to include the placement graphical asset. The integration service associates the placement graphical asset with a network link for accessing the source graphical asset via the content management service.

  • Publication number: 20190279620
Abstract: A method and associated system for recognizing speech using multiple speech recognition algorithms. The method includes receiving speech at a microphone installed in a vehicle, and determining results for the speech using a first algorithm, e.g., embedded locally at the vehicle. Speech results may also be received at the vehicle for the speech determined using a second algorithm, e.g., as determined by a remote facility. The results for both may include a determined speech topic and a determined speech slotted value, along with corresponding confidence levels for each. The method may further include using at least one of the determined first speech topic and the received second speech topic to determine the topic associated with the received speech, even when the first speech topic confidence level of the first speech topic, and the second speech topic confidence level of the second speech topic are both a low confidence level.

  • Publication number: 20190278715
Abstract: A system and method include managing, by a computing system, the memory assignments between a virtual and multiple physical memories based on deterministically realized distribution of the virtual memory over the multiple physical memories. The computing system can determine proportion values associated with the physical memories assigned to a virtual memory. The proportion values indicate the proportion of the total size of the memory allocated to the virtual memory is to be assigned to the physical memories.
