  • Publication number: 20190036854
Abstract: In order to be able to discuss multiple topics separately in an electronic chat session, a request to discuss one or more topics in the electronic chat session is detected. In response to detecting the request to discuss the one or more topics in the electronic chat session, a sub-chat session for each of the one or more topics is created within the electronic chat session. Information associated with the sub-chat sessions is sent to the participants of the electronic chat session. This allows each participant to chat separately on each topic via the separate sub-chat sessions; thus creating an individual transcript for each topic.

  • Patent number: 10193610
Abstract: MU-MIMO provides a mechanism for a wireless network device to transmit to multiple client devices at the same time. When employing MU-MIMO, a network device may group two or more associated client devices, and transmit beamformed signals to each group. In some implementations, a network device may initiate channel sounding. Channel sounding may include transmitting sounding frames to client devices associated with two or more basic service sets. Channel sounding may facilitate beamforming transmissions to client devices associated with the two or more basic service sets. The network device may receive feedback frames from client devices associated with the two or more basic service sets. A feedback frame may indicate how a sounding frame was received. In some implementations, the network device may further construct a feedback table from the feedback frames. The feedback table may facilitate grouping of the client devices for beamforming transmissions.

  • Patent number: 10191878
Abstract: A method is implemented by a network device to configure the operation of a Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) switch to enable an efficient transition from a first active processor in a first root complex to a backup processor in a second root complex. The method involves determining the first active processor in the first root complex and a set of backup processors and a set of root complexes, and configuring each root complex for independent PCIe switch communication. The method further includes detecting a failure of the active processor in the first root complex, selecting and notifying the backup processor and the second root complex to transition to be a second active processor and second root complex, and starting communication with PCIe devices using previously configured independent PCIe switch communication for the second processor of the second root complex.

  • Publication number: 20190028485
Abstract: Techniques are presented for efficiently provisioning application-agnostic resource access to a variety of applications without modification to the native access control mechanisms of the applications and without transmission of a user's credentials over the network. A user of an application is authenticated by an authorization provider. An access token for the authenticated user is generated. A session password is generated based at least in part on the access token. The session password is applied by the user to the native access control mechanism of an application to facilitate access to resources (e.g., set of subject data) by the application. The resource access is achieved without modification to the native access control mechanism of the application and without transmission of the credentials (e.g., username, password, etc.) of the user over the network.

  • Publication number: 20190022264
Abstract: The gel compositions as described herein, are less affected by changes in humidity, are readily formed into complex shapes, and can contain high loadings of the hydrophobic material, even when the material is not highly hydrophobic, and provide a more controlled release of the hydrophobic material. It is believed that the slow release is achieved by forming the gel to have a tight cross-linked network with small pore-size. The pore size is correlated to the average correlation length as measured using Small Angle X-Ray Scattering (SAXS). By limiting the average correlation length to less than 8 nm, preferably from 0.3 nm to 8 nm, more preferably from 0.3 nm to 4 nm, a long lasting release of the hydrophobic material is achieved, rather than a blooming effect, whereby the hydrophobic material is released in a short burst.

  • Patent number: 10187251
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for event processing architecture for real-time user engagement. Events that describe user interactions with client applications are analyzed in real-time when received in a data stream. The events are compared to patterns specified, for example, by administrators. If a pattern is matched based on a comparison to events received in the data stream, a predetermined action may be performed. The processing of events may be performed by a compute engine, which may include a virtual machine or a thread implemented in a parallel computing arrangement.

  • Patent number: 10185549
Abstract: Technologies are described for updating a live system with static changes. According to some examples, changes such as installing and/or removing features may be applied to a cloud based service in live environment without disrupting the service. New software may be patched and installed on an upgraded machine (i.e., server). New features, diagnostics, and language packs may be added. Existing features and certificates may be removed. To accomplish these, new software to be installed and existing software to be removed may be detected. Removal and additions may be performed without preparation and activation of replacement farms.

The method includes generating a best fit model of the technical system based on a target sensor dataset. The method also includes predicting a sensor dataset of the target sensor using the best fit model and non-target sensor datasets of non-target sensors, and determining a deviation tolerance by determining a difference between the predicted sensor dataset and the target sensor dataset. The method also includes detecting deviation in actual sensor dataset of the target sensor when a data-point in the actual sensor dataset exceeds the deviation tolerance and detecting deviation in the at least one sensor dataset of the one or more sensors by detecting deviation in each of the non-target sensor datasets.

  • Publication number: 20190018710
Abstract: In a computer-implemented method for managing resource allocation of a managed system, responsive to a request by a consumer node, an owner node of a plurality of owner nodes that controls resource allocations from the pool of resources is determined, where the resource is associated with a data object. A resource is allocated from a pool of resources comprising a plurality of resources by the owner node. An allocation marker corresponding to the resource is created. The resource and the allocation marker are made available for retrieval by the consumer node.

  • Publication number: 20190011291
Abstract: A method for measuring a capacitive sensor output may include applying an excitation signal to a capacitor of the capacitive sensor which causes generation of a modulated signal from a baseband signal, wherein the excitation signal is of a carrier frequency which is higher than frequency content of the baseband signal, demodulating the modulated signal to generate an output signal representative of a capacitance of the capacitor wherein the demodulating is based, at least in part, on the excitation signal, determining whether noise in the modulated signal is caused by interference at approximately the carrier frequency, and in response to determining noise in the modulated signal is caused by interference at approximately the carrier frequency, modifying the carrier frequency to another frequency to reduce noise caused in the modulated signal by the interference.

  • Publication number: 20190012722
Abstract: Inventory management in a checkout-free store may use a combination of anti-theft tags, door sensors, a payment application on a smartphone and associated with a payment device, and a shopping cart or basket with a first communication device (e.g., a radio frequency identification (“RFID”) tag, near-field communication (“NFC”) device, etc.). Items selected for purchase include a second communication device. For purchase, the item may be placed near the second communication device and the payment application adds the item to a virtual shopping cart within the payment application and deactivates the first communication device. Removing an item from the electronic cart may include removing it from the virtual shopping cart and reactivating the second communication device. The payment application may also interact with the first communication device to send a message to the store inventory system and collect the item from the customer prior to exiting the store.
