  • Publication number: 20180285270
Abstract: A cache repair tool includes an interface, a monitoring engine, and a purging engine. The interface receives a request to repair a cache. The request includes a maximum size threshold less than a total storage capacity of the cache. The request includes an identification of a data type. The monitoring engine determines an available capacity of the cache. The monitoring engine determines that the available capacity is less than or equal to the maximum size threshold. The purging engine purges data of the identified data type from the cache in response to the determination that the determined size exceeds the maximum size threshold.

  • Publication number: 20180286225
Abstract: The disclosure includes implementations for estimating a presence of an obstruction in a roadway using wireless vehicle data. A method may include receiving a Dedicated Short Range Communication (“DSRC”) message that includes path history data describing a path of a first DSRC-equipped vehicle with lane-level accuracy over a plurality of different times while the first DSRC-equipped vehicle is traveling on a roadway. The method may include determining a presence of an obstruction in a specific lane of the roadway based on the path history data. The obstruction may be indicated by the path history data because the path history data indicates that the obstruction affected the path of the first DSRC-equipped vehicle while traveling in the specific lane of the roadway. The method may include providing a recommendation to a driver of a second DSRC-equipped vehicle. The recommendation may describe the presence of the obstruction in the specific lane.

  • Publication number: 20180285539
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to multi-factor authentication of a user. In one embodiment, a computing device presents a one-time password to a user that has a sequence of characters. In response to presenting the one-time password, in various embodiments, the computing device receives a first sequence of fingers supplied by the user to a fingerprint sensor of the computing device. In some embodiments, the computing device converts the one-time password to a second sequence of fingers based on a mapping that associates fingers with characters. In one embodiment, the computer system authenticates the user by comparing the first sequence of fingers with the second sequence of fingers. In various embodiments, these actions may be performed in the context of a client-server interaction.

  • Publication number: 20180276241
Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to telecom inventory management, and more particularly to telecom inventory management via object recognition and localization using street-view images. In one embodiment, the method includes obtaining street-view images of a geographical area having telecom assets. The telecom assets are associated with corresponding GPS location coordinates. An object recognition model is applied to the street-view images to detect the telecom assets therein. Detecting the telecom assets includes associating the telecom assets with corresponding asset labels. A real-world location of the telecom assets is estimated in the geographical area by applying triangulation method on a set of multi-view images selected from the street-view images. The set of multi-view images are captured from a plurality of consecutive locations in vicinity of the telecom asset in the geographical area.

  • Patent number: 10083055
Abstract: Specialized, service optimized virtual machines are assigned to handle specific types of Internet of Things (IoT) devices. An IoT context mapping policy engine within the context of a virtualized network function manages IoT context mapping policy functions in load balancers. The IoT context mapping policy functions select service optimized virtual machines based on IoT device IDs, and assign those virtual machines to handle the devices. The IoT context mapping policy functions provide load data to the IoT context mapping policy engine. Based on the load data, the IoT context mapping policy engine maintains appropriate scaling by creating or tearing down instances of the virtual machines.

  • Patent number: 10083105
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for advising a user when an energy storage device in a computing system needs charging. State of charge data of the energy storage device can be measured and stored at regular intervals. The historic state of charge data can be queried over a plurality of intervals and a state of charge curve generated that is representative of a user's charging habits over time. The state of charge curve can be used to generate a rate of charge histogram and an acceleration of charge histogram. These can be used to predict when a user will charge next, and whether the energy storage device will have an amount of energy below a predetermined threshold amount before the next predicted charging time. A first device can determine when a second device typically charges and whether the energy storage device in the second device will have an amount of energy below the predetermined threshold amount before the next predicted charge time for the second device.
