Abstract: The present subject matter relates to categorizing virtual machines of a virtual machine environment into predefined service level buckets. The predefined service level buckets are indicative of different levels of application based services that are to be applied to the virtual machines. In one implementation, specifications of information technology (IT) resources allocated to each of the virtual machines are obtained. A weighted average score for each virtual machine with respect to each of the specifications of IT resources is determined. The weighted average score is indicative of a relative level of importance of the corresponding virtual machine with respect to the corresponding specification of IT resource for providing at least one business service using the virtual machine environment. Each virtual machine is assigned to one of the predefined service level buckets based on a total weighted average score for the each virtual machine.

Abstract: Examples disclosed herein relate to container-based backups. Some of the examples may enable analyzing a source host to be backed up, wherein the source host is not a container instance, and determining a portion of the source host for which a container representation is to be created. The container representation may comprise a source host image that is captured at the time of backup. Some of the examples may enable creating the container representation.

The importance parameter may be the author of the file, the number of users with whom the file is shared, the relationship between the users with whom a file is shared, the uniqueness of the file, or the presence of particular keywords in the file.

The system may include a receiver that receives information regarding patch deployment over a first pre-determined amount of time. The system may include a processor configured to determine, based on the historical information, a patch deployment index. The patch deployment index may characterize patch deployment as a number of patches deployed per unit time. The receiver may receive historical information regarding patch deployment over a second amount of time. The processor may use the historical information regarding patch deployment of the second pre-determined amount of time to determine a second patch deployment index. The processor may compare the first deployment to the second patch deployment index. When the difference between the second index and the first index is greater than a pre-determined threshold, the processor may invoke the tool.

Abstract: Example methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture to transfer files are disclosed. A disclosed example method includes calculating ratios for nodes within a first file system, wherein the ratios are based on a ratio of a number of files at a node to a total file size of the files at the node and distributing the nodes among sub-traversal paths based on the ratios to minimize deviation of the ratios of the sub-traversal paths.
