  • Publication number: 20220339409
Abstract: A device and a method for shaping a wire used in medical procedures, such as a guidewire used in conjunction with catheters. The device includes a body having a working face, and the body includes a wire-shaping portion, the wire-shaping portion having an aperture defined therein which extends from the working face along an aperture axis. The apertures include a flared section and a tip receiving section connected to the flared section, where the tip receiving section is shaped and sized for receiving a tip of the wire therein and maintaining a position of the tip of the wire while a bending force is exerted on the wire towards the working face. In one embodiment, the wire-shaping portion has a mound-shaped portion projecting from the working face from which the aperture extends, which enables to curve the wire in a smooth shape that follows the mound-shaped portion.

  • Patent number: 11141206
Abstract: The invention relates to the field of bioresorbable or non-bioresorbable bone substitutes to be implanted in humans in order to reconstitute the bone supply by replacing lost bone substance. More particularly, the invention concerns a device that is simple to manufacture and use and comprises a syringe provided with a single-use dose of a polymer which is fluid at the injection temperature while being solid and durable at body temperature.

  • Patent number: 10456183
Abstract: A device in the form of a kit for mixing and injecting a bone cement is described, in which a mixing unit and a transfer unit are two units distinct from and independent of each other, with no element in common, and are designed to be connected alternately, that is to say successively, to the same end of a hollow cylindrical body or mixing body of a main module, before this main module is connected to an injection unit via its other end.

  • Patent number: 9974591
Abstract: A system for attaching a piece of osteosynthesis equipment against a bone tissue includes at least a screw, and a screwdriver having a handle extended by a rod with an adapter to engage the screw. A portion of the guide member of the screwdriver protrudes in front of the end-piece of the screwdriver and extends along or around a portion of the screw to guide the screw in axial translation. The guide member has a front end forming an abutment of the screwdriver against the surface of the piece of osteosynthesis equipment on completion of a predefined depth of screwing of the screw into the bone tissue. The guide member can be set at a chosen length of extension, corresponding to a predefined depth of insertion of the screw. After insertion, the screw can be severed, and optionally fused with the piece of equipment to reinforce the locking of same.

  • Publication number: 20150134068
Abstract: The present invention relates to a spacer implant (I) for the temporary replacement of a knee prosthesis, said implant (I) having a femoral condyle (1) and a tibial plateau (2), the lower surface (7) of the femoral condyle (1) resting on the upper surface (8) of the tibial plateau (2), the lower surface (7) of the femoral condyle (1) having a convex shape while the upper surface (8) of the tibial plateau (2) has a concave shape, a stud (9) being supported by the tibial plateau (2) and penetrating into a receiving means (17) provided on the femoral condyle (1), the femoral condyle (1) comprising two flanges (12, 13) having different sizes and being joined together via a base (7) traversed by a notch (17) forming the receiving means, the shorter flange (13) consisting of two elements (15) referred to as condyles, which are spaced apart from one another by the extension of the notch (17), and a stabilizing bar (16) joining the two condyles (15) together at the free end of said flange (13).

  • Patent number: 8911440
Abstract: An osteosynthesis device that is both resorbable and radiopaque, produced using gradually degrading materials, includes at least one plate and a set of screws made of resorbable material, in which the plate consists of a composite mixture including i) a resorbable polymer or copolymer compound and ii) an inorganic filler that consists of at least one resorbable ceramic. The screws can be made of resorbable polymer, or of a composite mixture with at least one resorbable ceramic. The device is totally resorbable and radiopaque, and it offers a high level of safety, ensuring a strong and durable fixation of the screws to the plate and in the bone during the entire period needed for bone uniting.
