  • Patent number: 10194637
Abstract: A drinking apparatus includes a drinking receptacle, a liquid reservoir, a pump, a controller, and a liquid detector. The liquid reservoir has a liquid outlet for dispensing liquid into the drinking receptacle. The pump has an inlet in liquid communication with the drinking receptacle, and an outlet in liquid communication with the reservoir. The controller is configured to control the operation of the pump. The liquid level detector is configured to detect when the level of liquid in the reservoir is below a first threshold level. The controller is responsive to the liquid level detector to operate the pump to pump liquid from the drinking receptacle into the reservoir when the liquid level detector indicates that the level of liquid in the reservoir is below the threshold level, and the controller is configured to deactivate the pump at the end of a pumping period.

  • Publication number: 20080245816
Abstract: A tap 2 is provided which has a body with an inlet 8 and an outlet 10, valve means to control fluid flow from the inlet 8 to the outlet 10, seal opening means 14 designed either to pierce a sealing diaphragm or to open a sealing plug and actuation means 12, 48 for actuating the seal opening means 14. The seal opening means 14 comprises a seal opening member 16 coupled to a spring member which in an initial position is in a compressed state. The actuation means 12, 48 actuates the seal opening means 14 by releasing the spring member 18 from the compressed state such that the spring member 18 then drives the seal opening member 16 to open the seal.

  • Patent number: 6983719
Abstract: An animal behavior training apparatus includes an activation system and a feeding device. The activation system includes a sensing device acting as a switch and being in an electric circuit with an electric motor forming part of a feeding mechanism of the feeding device which has a container to receive foodstuffs or treats. The sensing device when activated causes the feeding mechanism to discharge a measure of foodstuffs or treats from the container. The container of the feeding device is upright and has an open top closable by a lid and the bottom of the container communicates with the feeding mechanism.
