  • Publication number: 20230077269
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication. In one aspect of the disclosure, a method for wireless communication includes determining, by a user equipment (UE), listen before talk (LBT) information associated with new radio-unlicensed (NR-U) operation of the UE. The method further includes transmitting, by the UE, areport including the LBT information. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

  • Publication number: 20210152335
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) and a serving base station may locally store secret information (e.g., side information, such as a secret key, a public key, etc.) that is used to protect physical (PHY) layer channel or signal transmissions. The UE and the serving base station may determine a next value of a pseudo random sequence that is a function of a current value of the pseudo random sequence and the secret information and may use the next value to determine a time-varying parameter. The UE and the serving base station may use this time-varying parameter to determine which tones, which symbols periods, or which sequence, is being used for a subsequent communication of a PHY layer channel or signal.

  • Publication number: 20210068003
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide a base station receiving an indication from a core network to serve multicast/broadcast traffic to one or more UEs. The base station may select a radio bearer mode from a plurality of radio bearer modes for delivery of the multicast/broadcast traffic to at least one UE of the one or more UEs. For example, the base station may select a multicast/broadcast only mode, a mixed multicast/broadcast mode and unicast mode, or a unicast mode for service of the traffic. Dependent on the selected mode and/or quality of service, the base station may select a dedicated radio bearer (DRB) for communication of the traffic in a unicast mode (e.g., to a particular UE) or a multicast radio bearer (MRB) for communication of the traffic in a broadcast/multicast mode.

  • Publication number: 20200358788
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Aspects include a device generating data to be sent to a receiving device and determining to provide provenance for the data. The device may generate a data identifier based on an identifier generation key and encrypt the data using an encryption key generated from a key associated with an owner of the device. The device may sign they encrypted data transmission using a signing key where the signing key is based on the encrypted data and the data identifier. In some cases, the device may send the data to a receiving device via one or more proxy devices. In some cases, multiple device may send signed data transmissions to a proxy device and the proxy device may process the multiple data transmission and send the processed data to the receiving device. The receiving device may verify provenance of the data.

  • Publication number: 20200336983
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may receive a downlink (DL) reception indication during an active duration of a discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration. The DL reception indication may indicate the presence of a reception opportunity following an inactivity interval, as well as the length of the inactivity interval. The wireless device may refrain from DL monitoring during the inactivity interval. In some cases, the wireless device may enter a sleep mode during the inactivity interval and wake up to receive a subsequent transmission during the reception opportunity. In some examples, the wireless device may use the inactivity interval to communicate using a different radio access technology (RAT).

  • Publication number: 20200229135
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless communications system may employ joint paging techniques. Multiple base stations may coordinate to determine joint paging parameters for a joint paging area. Each base station in the joint paging area may use the same paging parameters to generate the same joint paging message. The base stations in the joint paging area may communicate over backhaul links, such as an Xn interface. A user equipment (UE) in the joint paging area may be provided the joint paging parameters and monitor for paging messages based on the joint paging configuration. In some cases, the UE may be provided the joint paging parameters in a resource release message. Additionally, or alternatively, a base station of the joint paging area may broadcast the joint paging parameters.

  • Publication number: 20190124568
Abstract: A wireless network may provide system information by either a fixed periodic broadcast or broad-beam transmission or in response to a request by a user equipment (UE). The wireless network may broadcast (or broad-beam transmit) a signal that indicates to the UEs within a cell or zone coverage area that system information is to be transmitted on a fixed periodic schedule or in response to a request sent by one or more UEs.

  • Publication number: 20170311208
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A serving base station may determine a handover loss metric associated with a UE that is a candidate for handover. The handover loss metric may be based on connection parameters associated with the serving base station and a target base station, respectively. The serving base station may identify, based on the handover loss metric, a type of handover procedure to perform. The serving base station may perform the handover procedure of the UE to the target base station according to the identified handover type.
