  • Publication number: 20230224952
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine, in an inactive state, that uplink data is to be transmitted. The UE may determine whether a timing advance of the UE is valid. The UE may, if the timing advance is not valid, determine whether the uplink data satisfies a transport block size (TB S) threshold. The UE may, based at least in part on whether the uplink data satisfies the TB S threshold, selectively transmit the uplink data via an uplink random access channel (RACH) message or a configured uplink resource, or establish a radio resource control (RRC) connection for the uplink data. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Publication number: 20230217232
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to discovery in a wireless communication network. According to one aspect, a user equipment (UE) may determine to use a service associated with a sidelink communication, determine a contents of a discovery message including an indication of the message being the discovery message for the service, and determine a sidelink resource for use to transmit the discovery message. The UE may then transmit over a user plane using the determined sidelink resource the discovery message including the indication of the message being the discovery message for the service. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

  • Patent number: 11696331
Abstract: Logical channel prioritization and mapping to different numerologies is disclosed for 5G networks having multiple network slices operable for communication via logical channels associated with different numerologies. For user equipments (UEs) configured to handle multiple numerologies, different rules for mapping logical channels associated with different numerologies may be defined for data and non-data channels. Thus, when new data arrives at a UE for communication via a logical channel associated with a different numerology, the UE checks whether the mapping rules would allow multiplexing of the new numerology data onto an existing data channel. If no data channel has already been allocated or if an allocated data channel may not include data from the new numerology, then a mapping is followed for specifically requesting resources for communication of the new numerology data. The new mapping may trigger scheduling request or random access procedures specifically associated with the new numerology.

  • Patent number: 11689957
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) (e.g., a relay UE) may establish a relay connection for routing communications between a network entity (e.g., a base station) and a second UE (e.g., a remote UE). The relay connection may include a sidelink connection and an access link connection. The remote UE may transmit a request to the network entity via the relay UE. The request may include a relay service code associated with the sidelink connection, as well as a request for quality of service (QoS) support for the relay connection. Based on the request, the network entity may determine a QoS configuration for the relay connection. The network entity may indicate the QoS configuration to the UEs via the relay connection. • Patent number: 11671915
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for coordinated sidelink power savings configurations. A wireless node may select a sidelink power savings configuration to use for a sidelink between the wireless node and a user equipment (UE), provide the selected configuration to the UE, and follow the configuration for the sidelink. The selection may be based on input from the UE or without input from the UE. The selection may be a current power savings configuration at the wireless node, a power savings configuration suggest by the UE, or a different power savings configuration determined by the wireless node based on the current and suggested power savings configuration. When a new UE connects to the wireless node, the wireless node may reselect a power savings configuration to use for the sidelinks and provide the reselected power savings configuration to the UEs having a sidelink with the wireless node.
