The plurality of ports and the one or more windways are formed by processing a single piece of a material to remove a portion of the material from the single piece. The single piece of the material can be a cylindrical rod of the material. The one-piece body can be made of aluminum, an aluminum alloy, brass, a nickel-copper alloy, or stainless steel. The surface of the piston can be hard coat anodized and/or polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) sealed.

    Abstract: A replacement heart valve system may include a replacement heart valve implant including an expandable framework configured to shift from a radially collapsed to a radially expanded configuration, wherein the framework is self-biased toward the radially expanded configuration, and a plurality of valve leaflets attached to the framework. The replacement heart valve system may include an implant delivery system including a handle and an elongate shaft assembly including a tubular member fixedly attached to the handle, and an implant holding portion configured to constrain the framework in the radially collapsed configuration. The elongate shaft assembly includes an expandable balloon disposed on the tubular member within the implant holding portion, the balloon being configured to shift between deflated and inflated configurations. When the framework is constrained within the implant holding portion, at least a portion of the framework extends distal of the balloon in the deflated configuration.

    Abstract: Condensation polymers are prepared by agitating a mixture comprising glyoxal, a monomer comprising two or three primary aromatic amine groups, an organic solvent, and water at a temperature between 20° C. and 100° C. The resulting solution can be applied to a surface of a substrate, forming an initial film. Curing the initial film layer using two or more heating steps, wherein one of the heat steps is performed at a temperature of 150° C. to 250° C., produces a cured film layer. Depending on the relative amounts of glyoxal and monomer used, the film layer can contain predominantly high Tg imine-containing units or predominantly lower Tg aminal-containing units. All film layers were highly resistant to the solvent used to prepare the polymer. The Tg of the polymer can be about 190° C. to greater than 300° C.
