Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system, and computer-readable medium, for determining a level of hypertension of a person. The method has steps of: acquiring image data defining a retinal image of a retina of the person that has been captured by a retinal imaging system; processing the image data to identify a plurality of vessel segments present in the retinal image; determining respective widths of vessel segments of at least a subset of the plurality of vessel segments present in the retinal image; and calculating, as a vascular summary metric, at least one average value or median value of the determined widths of the vessel segments present in the retinal image, to determine a level of hypertension by which the person has been affected.

Abstract: A computer program product for managing intellectual property rights comprising a user interface and a database. The user interface may prompt a user for input of data relating to the intellectual property rights. The database may store data related to the intellectual property rights and may comprise a registration interface, a contracts interface, a social networking interface and a royalty management interface. The user may be prompted with an identification of a desire to exploit the intellectual property or an indication that the intellectual property has been exploited. The computer program product may use a processor that executes instructions to prompt the user for data, to store data, to provide access to the social network, to manage royalties, to indicate the desire to exploit the intellectual property and to indicate the intellectual property has been exploited.

Abstract: The present invention provides a rational basis for combining targeted therapies together with selected chemotherapeutics, which does not currently exist for the treatment of melanoma. The present invention is based on the present inventors' discovery that Akt3 regulates apoptosis and V599E B-Raf regulates growth and vascular development in melanoma. Inventors are the first to recognize an effective combined targeted therapeutic for treating melanoma. In one embodiment, the invention provides a method for inducing apoptosis in a melanoma tumor cell by reducing Akt3 activity. In yet another embodiment, the invention provides a method for inducing apoptosis in a melanoma tumor cell comprising contacting a melanoma tumor cell with an agent that reduces Akt3 activity. Consequently, the method provided restores normal apoptotic sensitivity to a melanoma tumor cell, thereby allowing the administration of a lower concentration of chemotherapeutic agents resulting in decreased toxicity to a patient.

When a query is received, the organizational role is associated with the query source. The security access privileges are used to determine the available query data results for the organizational role. Results are provided to the query source based on the security access privileges.

Abstract: A value field index for data stored in a data source is generated by analyzing a data source schema, analyzing intended queries of the data and analyzing the data. Problematic queries are identified and token fields are designated. The value field indexes are then created using the data source schema; and the value indexes are embedded in other indexes.

Abstract: A query server system that processes queries of data and information stored in one or more data sources. The query server system includes a query server, a query source interface connected to the query server for receiving queries, data and information source connected to the query server and an external index associated with said data and information source. The query server receives a query through the query source interface, processes the query using the external index to generate result-set pointers, sending the result-set pointers to the data source, receiving result set data from said data source and providing result-set data via the query source interface.
