    Abstract: An energy-saving arrangement for a signal receiver that responds to intermittent incoming signals. The receiver is turned on periodically for short intervals so as to provide a low duty cycle during the standby intervals when there are no incoming signals. If an incoming signal is sensed during one of its "on" intervals, it remains on during the duration of the signal.
