Patent number: 9629436Abstract: A nail gel/acrylic removal system and method for manufacturing a roll of foil segments with pads around a core used for nail gel and acrylic nail removal. A pad is configured to receive and absorb a substance for dissolving at least one of nail gel and acrylic nails. A segment of foil with an affixed pad is sized to wrap around at least a portion of a finger of a human hand so that the pad with the substance for dissolving is in contact with a fingernail of the hand. First and second sets of perforations are placed along opposite edges of the foil segment, so that pairs of foil segments with the pads are joined at the first and second set of perforations. A roll is formed of the foil segments with pads around a core.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2011Date of Patent: April 25, 2017Assignee: O P I PRODUCTS, INC.Inventors: Gavril Horvath, George Schaeffer

Publication number: 20160353856Abstract: An apparatus for providing UV radiation for curing of gels on fingernails and thumbnails including is disclosed. The apparatus includes an enclosure with a generally oval shaped opening into which a hand placed on a tray may be inserted. The tray is specifically configured to ensure that the hand is correctly placed so that each fingernail and the thumbnail of a hand is under a corresponding UV-LED when the tray slides into the enclosure.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 3, 2015Publication date: December 8, 2016Inventor: Gavril Horvath

Publication number: 20160082401Abstract: A nail polish mixing apparatus for stirring the mixing balls and nail polish contained with a nail polish bottle comprises a base, a vertical support column having an opening defined by a slot, and a motor in connection with a first end of a shaft. A linkage includes a top end that is rotatably fixed to a guide pin sized and configured to move up and down within the slot, and a bottom end that is rotatably fixed to a peripheral edge of a wheel that is in connection with a second end of the shaft. A ring on the linkage is provided for securing the nail polish bottle. Upon activation, the motor rotates the wheel, causing the bottom end of the linkage to move in a circular motion and the top end of the linkage to move up and down, thereby mixing the contents in the nail polish bottle.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 3, 2015Publication date: March 24, 2016Inventors: Dennis K. Eisen, Gavril A. Horvath

Patent number: 8814389Abstract: Power LEDs are implanted in a specially designed printed circuit board (PCB) that is known in the art as a Metal Core Printed Circuit Board (MCPCB). The MCPCB is bended over to so as to have rounded corners having a radius that is not smaller than a determined value depending of the overall thickness of the MCPCB and other factors without any negative effects on the insulating layer and copper traces in the area of bending. In this manner, the surface area of the heat sink used in an LED nail care curing appliance is increased. The MCPCB with installed LEDs with rounded corners thereby follows the natural curvature (based on the shape of a human hand) of the appliance housing, eliminating the need for additional heat sinks or fans to reduce the heat generated by the LEDs.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2012Date of Patent: August 26, 2014Assignee: O P I Products, Inc.Inventor: Gavril Horvath

Patent number: 8466442Abstract: An apparatus to provide ultra-violet (UV) irradiation to cure a gel nail. The apparatus includes a top section and a bottom section, the top and bottom sections forming a unit with an opening sized to allow at least a portion of a human hand to be inserted. An array of light emitting diodes (LEDs) disposed in the unit to emit UV irradiation in a first direction when supplied with electrical power. At least one LED is disposed in the unit to emit UV irradiation in a second direction when supplied with electrical power. The first direction is approximately perpendicular to the second direction such that fingernails and a thumbnail of a human hand inserted into the opening substantially simultaneously receive amounts of UV irradiation sufficient to cure a UV curable gel applied to the fingernails and the thumbnail at approximately the same time.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2011Date of Patent: June 18, 2013Assignee: O P I Products, Inc.Inventors: Gavril Horvath, George Schaeffer

Patent number: 6601588Abstract: A method and apparatus for tooling and locking a handle to a pedicure blade is disclosed. The method and apparatus member presents an entire surface of the pedicure member to be available for use, the curving of the surface allows easy access to calluses in hard to reach areas, the blade thus may be sanitized in a disinfectant and the size of the blade is more convenient for storage.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 2001Date of Patent: August 5, 2003Assignee: OPI Products, Inc.Inventors: Julie Baltierra, Gavril A.
