  • Publication number: 20240025462
Abstract: A vehicle control system and method may include one or more processors that may receive a data set associated with plural waypoint locations along one or more routes. The data set may indicate plural waypoint locations, target arrival time windows for a vehicle system to reach the plural waypoint locations, and priority ranks of the plural waypoint locations. The processors may create and/or adjust a pacing trip plan based on the data set. The pacing trip plan may designate one or more operational settings of the vehicle system as a function of time, distance, and/or location. The pacing trip plan may be created and/or adjusted to direct the vehicle system to reach one or more of the plural waypoint locations within the corresponding target arrival time windows.

  • Patent number: 11719602
Abstract: A method that may include obtaining environmental parameters related to one or more routes of a trip for a first vehicle system, and determining one or more expenditure sections and one or more charging sections of the one or more routes by predicting where the first vehicle system will consume energy and where the first vehicle system will generate the energy, respectively, during the trip based on the environmental parameters. A first trip plan may be obtained for the trip based on the one or more expenditure sections and the one or more charging sections, the trip plan designating one or more operational settings for the first vehicle system for travel during the trip.

  • Patent number: 11565731
Abstract: A system and method generate a trip plan for a trip of a vehicle system along a route. The usage of an engine during the trip is determined based on engine operational parameters, energy storage device operational parameters, and one or more objectives of the trip desired to be achieved. The usage of the energy storage device during the trip is also determined based on the engine operational parameters, the energy storage device operational parameters, and the one or more objective, including when to charge or discharge the energy storage device during the trip.

  • Publication number: 20220242391
Abstract: A method and system controller includes determining a power requirement for a vehicle system to complete a planned trip over a route. The method includes determining whether an amount of available power from the vehicle system is sufficient to propel the vehicle system to complete the planned trip by comparing the available power with the power requirement that is determined. The method includes changing one or more operational aspects of the planned trip based on the comparison between the amount of available power and the power requirement that is determined to generate a newly planned modified trip.

  • Publication number: 20210188336
Abstract: A system and method that includes determining a relationship between a moving resistance of a vehicle system and one or more characteristics of the vehicle system. A trip plan may be generated based at least in part on the relationship for movement of the vehicle system through one or more sections of one or more routes based at least in part on the relationship. One or more operational settings of the vehicle system are then designated for implementing the trip plan to drive movement of the vehicle system to achieve one or more objectives.

  • Patent number: 10916146
Abstract: A convoy management system and method determine determining an inter-vehicle spacing in a convoy formed from two or more vehicles traveling together along one or more routes. Controllers onboard the two or more vehicles are instructed to automatically change movement of at least one of the vehicles in the convoy to maintain the inter-vehicle spacing. The inter vehicle spacing is dynamically changed during movement of the convoy along the one or more routes.

  • Publication number: 20180303351
Abstract: A system includes an imaging device that captures multichannel image data from a region of interest on a patient, one or more processors, and memory storing instructions. The memory storing instructions cause the one or more processors to receive the multichannel image data from the imaging device, such that the multichannel image data includes an image signal representative of plethysmographic waveform data for the region of interest and specular noise in the multichannel image data. Furthermore, the memory storing instructions cause the one or more processors to generate a projection matrix associated with the multichannel image data and iterate values of the projection matrix to remove the specular noise to generate a representative physiological signal, such that the representative physiological signal has an improved signal-to-noise ratio relative to the image signal and the representative physiological signal is a representative plethysmographic waveform.
