  • Publication number: 20240261173
Abstract: A method of improving comfort with a high-frequency chest wall oscillation (HFCWO) system includes calculating a plurality of airflow metrics of a first therapy and a second therapy. An efficacy score of each of the plurality of airflow metrics is calculated based on a comparison of each airflow metric of the second therapy to each respective airflow metric of the first therapy. A total score of the second therapy is determined based on a combination of the efficacy scores of each of the plurality of airflow metrics and a comfort level of the second therapy.

  • Publication number: 20230233173
Abstract: A pleural effusion pre-screening system may be used to administer a percussive treatment to a patient's chest and/or back, sense the respiratory sounds from the percussive treatment, and analyze those respiratory sounds. The pleural effusion pre-screening system may have a high frequency chest wall oscillation (HFCWO) vest which includes at least one adjustable strap.

  • Publication number: 20230116467
Abstract: A high frequency chest wall oscillation therapy system includes an air pulse generator. The air pulse generator includes control circuitry and a fluid chamber carrying a fluid. A motor is configured to generate compression and expansion of the fluid in the fluid chamber to generate pressurized fluid. A pressure sensor detects a pressure of the pressurized fluid in the fluid chamber. A garment includes at least one fluid bladder defining a pressurizable chamber adapted to receive the pressurized fluid from the fluid chamber to provide a force of high frequency pressure oscillation to a patient's chest wall.

  • Publication number: 20230099402
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for High Frequency Chest Wall Oscillation therapy can include a therapy garment including a covering garment for dressing on a patient's torso, the covering garment including a bladder pocket defined between inward and outward layers, and a fluid bladder arranged within the bladder pocket. The fluid bladder can define a pressurizable chamber adapted to receive pressurized fluid to provide force of high frequency pressure oscillation to a patient's chest wall. The pressurizable chamber can be formed to define an outer profile shaped to correspond closely with the patient's rib cage profile to reduce transfer of force of high frequency chest oscillation to the patient's torso outside of the patient's rib cage profile.

  • Publication number: 20220061694
Abstract: A patient monitoring system includes a microphone that collects audio data from a patient. The audio data is used to generate audio characteristics for categorization of the audio data and analysis of the audio data to determine a patient health status. The audio characteristics and the patient health status are tracked over time and utilized to monitor a respiratory condition of the patient. The system determines the patient health status based on a comparison of the audio characteristics with a database of audio characteristics associated with recorded health statuses of various patients. The system generates a report of the current patient health status based on the database of audio characteristics and associated health statuses.

  • Publication number: 20190070054
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a subject transfer apparatus including a base unit comprising a lifting mechanism, a body unit coupled to the lifting mechanism, a subject support platform coupled to the body unit, and a slide assembly coupling the subject support platform to the base unit such that the subject support platform is slidable between a first position in which the subject support platform positioned over the base unit and a second position in which the subject support platform is cantilevered from the base unit. The subject support platform includes a first extension platform and a second extension platform slidably disposed within the subject support platform. In various embodiments, the first extension platform and the second extension platform are extendable away from the subject support platform opposite one another. Methods of transferring a subject using the subject transfer apparatus are also described.
