  • Patent number: 4939407
Abstract: A composite sheet transducer for producing voltage in response to stimuli d having a polymeric sheet sandwiched between a plurality of thin film conductive blocks arranged in non-conductively isolated block patterns of opposed electrode assemblies to establish a network of closed circuit segments of sensors. Electric shorting between opposed overlapping blocks is thereby limited to circuit segment areas of the composite sheet to avoid interference with voltage production in other areas of the composite sheet.

  • Patent number: 4559615
Abstract: A complex character generator having a mass memory for storing the individual characters of a Chinese character-based language in pictorial form, the characters being represented by a two-part code, the first part defining a predetermined element common to a plurality of characters, and the second part defining the balance of the individual character. The character generator includes a keyboard having one section of keys for singularly entering a unique 2-digit code representing each of the predetermined common elements, and a numerical section for entering at least a 5-digit code defining the balance of the characters under a modified Four Corner Coding Method. A method for coding Chinese characters into the two-part code and the complete Four Corner Coding Method are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4217826
Abstract: A time delay firing device used for initiating explosives or pyrotechnics ter a preset delay. The unique design allows the device to be used directly in combination with explosives or pyrotechnics or with a variety of accessories. It can be used in conjunction with a standard safety and arming device or with a special blasting adapter for initiating electric caps, or in conjunction with a training adapter for initiating standard pyrotechnics. When used in conjunction with a blasting or training adapter, the device can be refurbished and reset by the user in the field. Furthermore, a self test feature is provided. Time delays in eleven discrete settings from 15 minutes to 72 hours are achieved through the use of a highly stable oscillator coupled to a shift register counting circuit.
