  • Publication number: 20240242459
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for detecting alarm objects in items of luggage in a detection device. The method includes scanning a first two-dimensional inspection strip of a first part of the item of luggage, evaluating the first two-dimensional inspection strip for the presence of partial sections of alarm objects, outputting an inspection result based on the evaluation of the first inspection strip, scanning at least a second two-dimensional inspection strip of a second part of the item of luggage, evaluating the second two-dimensional inspection strip for the presence of partial sections of alarm objects, and outputting an inspection result based on the evaluation of the second inspection strip.

  • Publication number: 20240242518
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for checking items of luggage in order to detect objects. The method includes generating a three-dimensional inspection volume, generating a two-dimensional first inspection image from the three-dimensional inspection volume (along a first projection direction, generating at least one two-dimensional second inspection image from the three-dimensional inspection volume along a second projection direction which differs from the first projection direction, evaluating the first inspection image in order to detect objects by means of a neural network, evaluating at least one second inspection image in order to detect objects by means of a neural network, outputting the result of the evaluation steps.

  • Patent number: 10163200
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a system and method for detecting an item having at least one symmetry property inside an inspection object based on at least one transmission image. The method includes the steps: (a) detection of edges of individual items contained in the transmission image in order to produce an edge image; and (b) detection of the item by determining a symmetry line that can be associated with an item with at least one symmetry property contained in the transmission image based on pairs of edge picture elements of the edge image that are positioned symmetrically to each other relative to the symmetry line; and in step (b), in determining the symmetry line in the edge image, the only edge picture elements that are taken into account are those for which the symmetry line lies in an item contained in the transmission image, to which item the edge belongs.
