  • Patent number: 6322755
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for carrying out an exothermic reaction in the presence of a solid catalyst in a three-phase slurry reactor which includes a slurry zone and a freeboard zone. In the slurry zone, the catalyst is kept in suspension in a slurry liquid and in the freeboard zone, a liquid reflux is maintained to remove catalyst from the freeboard zone and, preferably, recycling the catalyst to the slurry zone. The present invention also relates to a three-phase slurry reactor adapted to the process.

  • Patent number: 6221318
Abstract: Process for radial distribution of fluid into a fluid mass wherein fluid is radially conveyed within and isolated from the fluid mass and discharged via a plurality of distribution points located radially in the fluid mass.

  • Patent number: 5900159
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for separating liquid from a slurry of solid particles and liquid contained in a vessel in the presence of a gas, which comprises degasifying the slurry and passing the degasified slurry through a cross-flow filter, and separating the degasified slurry into the liquid and a concentrated slurry. The present invention further relates to a process for the preparation of heavy hydrocarbons, which process comprises contacting a synthesis gas in a reactor vessel with a slurry of solid catalyst particles and a liquid, thereby producing heavy hydrocarbons, and separating the liquid containing heavy hydrocarbons from the slurry by the said method.
