  • Patent number: 11939859
Abstract: Systems and methods for utilizing performance based condition monitoring to determine health condition of wellsite equipment. A method may include operating a piece of equipment at an oil and gas wellsite by performing a plurality actions by a component of the piece of equipment, and generating a plurality of sensor measurements, wherein each sensor measurement is indicative of a corresponding action. The method may further include receiving the plurality of sensor measurements by a processing system, calculating a condition indicator for each component based on a corresponding sensor measurement, recording each condition indicator over a period of time, and determining condition of the piece of equipment based on at least one of the condition indicators recorded over time.

  • Publication number: 20220082009
Abstract: A technique is provided to facilitate monitoring of contaminants which can potentially enter an electric submersible pumping system. A sensor system is used in conjunction with the electric submersible pumping system to detect the presence of specific contaminants which can affect future operation of the electric submersible pumping system. Depending on the embodiment, the sensor system may comprise a sensor or sensors disposed within the electric submersible pumping system and/or in or along components associated with the electric submersible pumping system. Each sensor is used to monitor for the contaminant and to provide data to a control system so as to facilitate decision-making regarding future operation of the electric submersible pumping system.

  • Publication number: 20210080938
Abstract: A method for controlling a drilling rig based on a smart historian module. The smart historian module is configured to store equipment events, measurements or operating parameters as historic records. As the amount of information to be stored increases as the equipment on a rig is increasingly monitored, the smart historian examines the manner in which this increasing amount of information is to be stored and how it can be utilized in the drilling operation and maintenance of the equipment. The smart historian includes a fast loop component in the high frequency events environment to record the resultant measurement of key metrics and performance functions, hence reducing the size of recorded information, and enhancing the value of the dataset.

  • Publication number: 20190264545
Abstract: A drilling rig health management system is used on a drilling rig site including a plurality of rig equipment for drilling rig operations. Additionally, a health management system may be located on the drilling rig site and configured to determine a health index of the plurality of rig equipment. Further, drilling rig health management system may manage a health of rig equipment at the drilling rig site by measuring a health of a plurality of rig equipment with one or more sensors, determining a health index of the plurality of rig equipment, and monitoring the health index.
