  • Patent number: 9341049
Abstract: A well production and injection string includes a plurality of spaced apart packers each adapted to seal with a wall of the wellbore. A plurality of flow control devices are provided in the string, distributed between pairs of adjacent packers. The flow control devices are adapted to communicate flow between an interior and an exterior of the string with less restriction to flow from the interior to the exterior of the string than to flow from the exterior to the interior of the string.

  • Publication number: 20100000727
Abstract: A wellbore servicing apparatus comprising an inflow control assembly having an inflow flowbore and a stimulation assembly having a stimulation flowbore is disclosed. A method of servicing a wellbore comprising placing a stimulation assembly in the wellbore and placing at least one inflow control assembly in the wellbore, the at least one inflow control assembly comprising a selectively adjustable inflow sleeve, is also disclosed. A method of servicing a wellbore comprising opening a plurality of jetting nozzles in a production string located in a wellbore adjacent a formation, jetting a treatment fluid through the nozzles and perforating and/or fracturing the formation, at least partially closing the plurality of jetting nozzles, opening a plurality of inflow ports to allow fluid to flow from the formation into the production string, and filtering the fluid prior to the fluid entering the inflow ports is disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20080041582
Abstract: A flow control apparatus (100) for controlling the inflow of production fluids into an interior passage (118) of a tubular member (116) in a wellbore includes a flow restrictor (104) positioned in the flow path between an exterior of the tubular member (116) and the passage (118). The flow restrictor (104) has an active chamber (114) and a bypass chamber (112). A bypass tubing is disposed within the bypass chamber (112). The bypass tubing (122) has a constant effective flow area for allowing production fluids to enter the passage (118) from the bypass chamber (112). A plurality of flow blocking members (132) is disposed within the active chamber (114) and cooperate with outlets (128) of the tubular member (116) to autonomously vary an effective flow area for allowing production fluids to enter the passage (118) from the active chamber based upon the constituent composition of the production fluids.

  • Publication number: 20080041588
Abstract: Inflow control devices for sand control screens. An inflow control device for restricting flow into a passage of a tubular string in a wellbore includes at least two of a flow restrictor section, a fluid discriminator section and a reverse flow preventer section, and the inflow control device is configured so that fluid which flows between an exterior of the tubular string and the passage also flows through each of the at least two sections. A well screen or liner includes a filter or inlet portion and an inflow control device including a flow restrictor section, a fluid discriminator section, and a reverse flow preventer section, the inflow control device being configured so that fluid which flows through the filter portion also flows through the flow restrictor, fluid discriminator and reverse flow preventer sections.

  • Publication number: 20080041580
Abstract: Autonomous flow restrictors for use in a subterranean well. An apparatus is disclosed for use in a well wherein both oil and gas are produced. The apparatus includes multiple flow blocking members having a density less than that of the oil. The members are positioned within a chamber with the members increasingly restricting a flow of the gas out of the chamber through multiple outlets. Another apparatus is disclosed for restricting production of at least one undesired fluid which has a density different from a density of a desired fluid. The apparatus includes at least one flow restrictor and at least one bypass flow restrictor. The bypass restrictor may have a greater restriction to flow therethrough as compared to the other flow restrictor. The apparatus further includes multiple flow blocking members operative to increasingly restrict flow of the undesired fluid through the flow restrictor in response to an increased proportion of the undesired fluid.
